@XorDev If only modern browsers supported multi-channel audio devices. My audio driver has loopback channels (which would allow using system audio as input) - but these are channels 11&12 on my interface and not selectable in Chrome or Safari.

@jon_harry7 This was made using my own app and a single RGB laser projector... I wish I could have recorded it using that perspective where you get to see the beams as well as the projected shapes - but alas, this was recorded in living room:

@lachamade It is my own app - called Euler Visual Synthesizer. Check profile for link. It is kinda tailored specifically for creating periodic / harmonic / geometric visualizations - with a few non-linear tricks up its sleave.

@eulervissynth Wow that’s awesome. What tool are you using?
English

@fishPointer Yes - I made a little tool for doing things just like this - and its interactive.
English

@Math_files I agree - but I like hiding the math behind touchable knobs.

Old-school... Oscillators + modulators + LFOs - with modern day rendering.

@dmvrg @threejs @Spectacles I ♥ Lissajous curves! Here is an animation morphing between a circle and a (2,4) Lissajous curve with some basic translation modulation thrown in for extra squigglies.

@makenoisemusic I ❤️ my QPAS and my XPO - How have I not seen this Make Noise oscilloscope video before now? Hi. NC struggling artist, developer, musician here... I made a full color oscilloscope / geometric synthesizer application - just for making fun shapes like this: x.com/eulervissynth/…

Audio Reactivity coming soon!

Drawing on the scope with QPAS!
QPAS looks as great as it sounds! In this video, QPAS is processing a pair of high frequency waves from the DPO (Saw and Square), and blending its Band, High and (left) Smile Pass outputs through X-Pan before heading out to the X-Y display.

@interesting_aIl Ooh... If you don't want to take the time to draw everything manually, please take a look at this awesome app for creating Lissajous and Hypotrochoid shapes (mathematical names for these types of shapes). You can make them dance to music!

@djmarkfarina Pretty rare glider in the background... A Libelle of some sort. Maybe H-101 Salto?

@XorDev Cool as hell - as always, but... the red spot on Jupiter rotates with Jupiter's rotation. Here are two photos taken in my front yard maybe 1 hour apart - you can see the red spot has moved - as has one of it's moons which is casting a black shadow on the surface.

@TimSweeneyEpic Would love to bring my visual synthesizer app to UE... Looking for financing options for this project. Does Epic still offer any financial assistance to interesting projects?

There are no equations to digest... no programming languages to learn... It looks just like an audio synthesizer - with knobs and buttons. It is fully interactive using mouse/keyboard or any MIDI capable device. Twiddle some knobs and enjoy the beauty of periodic generators...

Indeed Unreal Engine is moving to Left-Up-Forward coordinates everywhere, starting with UEFN, and coming to UE5-6 in an incrementally-adoptable way through UI settings and C++ helper functions/macros to ease the transition.
This will align Unreal with Y-Up, right handed standards of USD and glTF.
Why? Because future 3d tools and ecosystems will be increasingly interoperable and standards-based. There are a lot of missing standards we’ll need to propose, and Team Unreal will be far more successful proposing new things if we adopt and add to existing standards and conventions.
The USD-glTF-Maya-Houdini quadrant is the center of mass for complex code-art-pipeline tooling that is highly sensitive to coordinates. (Flipping coordinates when exporting from AutoCAD or Blender is easy enough; changing a movie vfx pipeline is not).
Coordinates based on project settings sound like a have-it-your-way compromise but are a combinatorial mess when projects are a mix of code modules and content packages from many independent authors.
The best time to make this change would have been 1995, but I believe the second best time is now with the launch of Scene Graph in UEFN.

They changed the orientation of axis in ortho view in #UE5.6. Is the LUF coming here too?

@XorDev Lumia... Art with light. Often implemented by shining a laser through various pieces of textured glass. I'm not exactly sure how to even begin to simulate it... youtube.com/watch?v=TCh8pr…

@XorDev Oooh... Thats hard because I am more interested in your general philosophy of finding inspiration - but from a technical perspective - interested in how you got audio data into your shader for "I'm the Boss" - and also if you can do slow-mo of real-time data like in "Waveform"
