@mattyglesias If you did this with OpenClaw, you could hit all the trends at once.

I really appreciated that Herb added strict local checking in v0.9 (thanks @marcoroth_ ), and I really loved that Claude was able to fix 30 partials one (multi-agent) shot.
English

@marcoroth_ My two cents is that by the time a view is complex enough to benefit from them, it should probably broken down into partials or ViewComponents. Or in other words, it usually feels like a code smell.
And also, I LOVE herb! Thanks for making it!

@questionableway It's like a trillion times safer, and you're alone, so it feels like a respite from the world.
English

okay so is waymo actually cheaper than uber/lyft? bc if not, what the hell is the point
Landon@landon20s
Welcome to Chicago, @Waymo
English

@LeighGiangreco Does this mean it's time to resurrect Chicagoans For Rio?
English

I’m biased but Chicago is a better setting for the summer Olympics. River is clean enough to swim in, you’ve got multiple iconic stadiums. the lake is great for most of the water sports/beach volleyball w/the best skyline in America as the backdrop
Leigh Giangreco@LeighGiangreco
I’m sorry but the backdrop of LA28 is just nothing compared to Milan or Paris. The last summer Olympics had the Eiffel Tower and we’ll have…highways?

As a child I watched this movie probably one million times
cinesthetic.@TheCinesthetic
Flight of the Navigator (1986) is seriously underseen. A kid vanishes for eight years, returns the same age, and ends up piloting a sleek alien ship with a wisecracking AI. It’s smart, emotional, and pure 80s wonder. More people should be talking about it.

@TimHaines @bcherny Okay, I've solved the issue.
If you set your "network egress" to "package managers only" it blocks `cache.ruby-lang.org`, which is necessary for updating ruby versions. Moreover whitelisting that domain does not work.
Fix that, then use this skill gist.github.com/evdevdev/d6f4c…
English

@TimHaines @bcherny I have been struggling with this mightily!
The docs suggest that ruby-lang.org is whitelisted. Claude tries to use rbenv to install 3.4.8, but it fails over and over despite many tries.
English

@bcherny Claude code for web would be much more useful for us if it supported more modern Ruby - 3.4.8 or even 4.0. As it is we can’t run tests/specs or linters.
English

Has anyone been able to get Claude Code Web to install Ruby versions? The docs for "Package Managers Only" are wrong or misleading about how ruby-lang.org gets whitelisted.
English

This is wild. So much of my feed is like, "any attempt to do fare enforcement is violence"... but like, maybe it's good?
meatball times@meatballtimes
wait this graph is crazy BART installed anti-fare-hopping gates and the amount of station maintenance and cleanup they had to do went to basically zero strong evidence that the poor condition of public transit is fairly easy to fix + caused by a very small group of people

@jnunemaker @Shpigford @mattgraham @conductor_build Thanks for posting this. I think my setup is simpler than yours, so I was able to make a pretty basic change to `bin/dev` to get the ports working:
`PORT="${CONDUCTOR_PORT:-${PORT:-3000}}"`
And then adding `mise trust .` to the setup got it really working.
English

@Shpigford @mattgraham @conductor_build i setup canonical host with port derived from conductor and drive everything off that.

English

Ok because I find @jnunemaker to be one of the smartest devs I know… today is @conductor_build day one for me.

Even if you take the conservative defense of each ICE killing, you’re left with “We haphazardly scaled up a poorly trained police force to storm into neighborhoods that voted against the president, where we antagonize the local population until someone resists arrest, and then we kill them,” which is morally horrendous on top of being an absurd way to do immigration policy.
English

@conductor_build Wait, I'm a doofus. I just realized that somehow the Conductor had set "Branch new workspaces from" to whatever branch I was on when I first opened it. Now fixed.
English

@conductor_build When I'm starting a new workspace, it would be nice to choose which root branch to use (i.e. `main`). At a minimum, I'd love to see the root branch in the UX. (Just opened a PR that picked up an as-yet-unmerged feature)
