@Scobleizer Haha, there should be a whole Rosetta stone on how to translate what Hardware founders say into reality.

When Elon says “two weeks” my brain translates that to “three months.” :-) That said, the other night I asked him how his AI team approached improving a casino and he answered back that he doesn’t like gambling. That, actually, is smart. There is a real risk that augmented reality and then brain/computer interfaces addict many to new forms of gambling. That is a really dystopian world. Already exists here in Las Vegas. Driving home today. Still waiting for FSD 12. That was two weeks away around Thanksgiving last year. Hopefully Grok comes sooner. My use of it in Vegas shows it needs major improvements.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Perhaps it is now clear why @xAI’s Grok is so important. It is far from perfect right now, but will improve rapidly. V1.5 releases in 2 weeks. Rigorous pursuit of the truth, without regard to criticism, has never been more essential.

had a call earlier with @csanz it was awesome to hear him talk about the past decade of work in the drone industry, and give his thoughts on the importance of American manufacturing. this just re-affirms my belief that the most important and impactful way to spend your time is by talking with really cool people. oh and building, you need to build- that's how you meet the cool people

First interview: Daniel Donaldson founder of @eveVehicles. His AI will save many lives. How? Let’s say your house is on fire. Your neighbor calls the fire department. Within three minutes one of Eve’s drones flies over. Keep in mind it usually takes usually five to 15 minutes for the first trucks to arrive. The drone could see someone lying on the front lawn coughing with people standing around. The drone can talk to them through a speaker and tell everyone what to do. OK not a strong example maybe. What if it arrives at a 911 call of a bad car wreck. Five people trapped inside. It can make sure enough ambulances are called. It can see everything and give dispatchers situational awareness. Or let’s say there is a shooting It can give police arriving on scene much better awareness of where to go and threats. Or potential de-escalate a situation before a mistake is made. It is endless. Oh and the thing can take off and land in high m.p.h. winds. Computer vision/AI/drone company out of Texas coming this summer. Met him at the Apple Vision Pro party that @cerebral_valley is throwing tonight. Sorry for the loud music but it is a party. As important as the 911 system.

@Marcel_A_Buth @Scobleizer Many have tried before us. A couple are trying now. It's more a race of the first to pull it off in a way that satisfies the customer nowadays.

@Scobleizer @eveVehicles This sounds really cool. One of the most important things will be that such a drone will be able to see whether the call really required an ambulance and was not another false report. Ambulances will be sent where they are really needed.

@Z1970 @Scobleizer eve is NDAA compliant American parts, built in America. States/federal gov are banning CCP drones from being used in public safety, already banned their use in the military. People definitely are concerned about this.

@Scobleizer @eveVehicles Imagine AI WIFI SIM smoke detectors that communicate with mobile phones. When will we have affordable WIFI smoke detectors that integrate with house camera systems and messages? Surely an improvement if a smoke detector can send a message to your mobile, or other?

@0xAraqen @Scobleizer Check out regulations for what's called Beyond Visual Line of Sight drones! They're there to make the people safe. For instance, we have a parachute for those situations that must be rigorously tested under the supervision of a certified agency! Thank you for your question.

@Scobleizer @eveVehicles The only problem is… how do we allow autonomous drones to fly over the urban areas? 🤷‍♂️ this is something governments try to solve now. Because… what if the drone malfunctions and drop on pedestrian’s head or someone’s car in the middle of the city 🤔

@KatieMPatton @Scobleizer many real-time crime centers have dispatchers watching video streams from cameras around town as situations develop. It's a hard job, and they deserve a lot of respect for it! Make sure the city near you has mental health benefits for them. :)

Tried to build this a few years ago, tricky part is getting over the expense hurdle for drones. You don’t really replace anyone so require an increased budget. Universities have been looking at this but the price per drone is insane so run into the same issues. Hopefully drone costs have come down and capabilities have gone up to prove more successful. Think forest fires are a huge market here

@BrennanWoodruff @Scobleizer Hi Brennan! Thanks for being part of the movement for safer public safety! We don't replace officers, we just make them more efficient by arriving to less that they aren't needed at. To have a drone that was coat efficient enough for the service, we had to build our own.

@EsranurKaygin @Scobleizer Hi Ersa, thank you for your interest in the problem! It's difficult to say exactly how many people die from service delays. The estimation is 44k last year. Also the US has about 300k+ heart attacks, and 150k overdoses a year, where delays to service are critical survival factors
