Somewhere in New York City, a kid sat by a big old radio, pencil in hand, listening to John Sterling, writing down every score, picturing every pitch, every swing, every roar of the crowd. And when his voice rose, “It is high! It is far! It is gone!”, that kid jumped like they were right there in the Bronx. He gave that kid a seat their parents could never afford. That was the story of thousands of kids across New York City. That voice, that feeling, that connection to the game, it will never be replaced. Rest in peace, John.

@HawkEmDownChris Favorite and best are different. Favorite, despite being a Cowboys HC, is easily Bill Parcells. He balanced winning with being fun, having sideline antics (and gifs) and just being hilarious. The absolute best.

@BobbySkinner_ Ravens sign about the same number of UDFAs as everyone else (15–18 per year vs. a league average of ~15). The difference is conversion — they’ve had a UDFA make the Week 1 roster in 19 of 20 years, and their hit list (Tucker, Priest Holmes, Bart Scott, Gus Edwards, Patrick Ricard, Keaton Mitchell, Mekari) is arguably the best UDFA alumni group in the league. It’s not volume, it’s scouting infrastructure and development culture under Harbaugh/DeCosta. For the Giants, that’s the gap worth studying — not how many they sign, but how they identify and develop the right ones.

@DDuggan21 Harbaugh needed to do a clean sweep. And it wasn’t necessary to be a former ST coach to see that. Glad we’ve got someone in place that seems to see what we’ve been complaining about for years.

The Giants have shown more of a commitment to LB in a few short months with Harbaugh (Edmunds, Reese, Kelly) than they have in over a decade (probably longer). Harbaugh understands the importance of having a productive second level of the defense and fans will see the difference
