WP Presence API FTW! We're working on a suite of editorial workflow tools and the new Presence API just made possible my favorite new feature. When a user enters the editor (or in Presence API terminology a "room") after a few seconds we add them as a "watcher", so in the status board, calendar, and dashboard widget they can track the workflow status of just the content you're involved in. And, of course, watchers receive email or Slack notifications as an post moves through the pipeline.

@pootlepress Then the problem isn't the onboarding process but rather the tool itself. Is the proposal to change the Editing Experience, or a better onboarding into the platform? Those are two very different conversations.

I’ve been thinking about onboarding new users with WordPress Playground blueprints paired with a much simpler editing experience. Feels like there’s something interesting there. What do you think?

@wordpressdotcom @WordPress Why not just add skills to solve these issues? Or is this what is being done in the background? I'd rather just get skills than install yet another CLI.

General AI coding agents can write excellent code, but there are some things they just can’t do: 👉 Spin up a local @WordPress environment 👉 Validate block markup against the real WordPress editor 👉 Screenshot the result to check their own work and iterate it 👉 Build with WordPress best practices baked in But guess what? We built one that can. 💪 Studio Code is now free in beta!

@andrewhoyer This is a headache. Continue with due diligence, make sure the additional headache is reflected in my proposal and down the line, I propose a new build. I would maybe offer discounted rates for the new build.

@amarinabarbieri Por isso eu uso o Google Pixel.

I have a release skill in Claude for my plugins: * confirms the changelog based on diff * confirms proper version set * looks for leftover debug code, cleans up a bit * sends to GitHub, makes release * makes local zip backup of version * updates EDD with the release zip file and changelog data * updates documentation if needed (new features, settings, filters, etc) * updates marketing pages if needed features * drafts release blog post and email if bigger update * thinks of any new blog post topics based on any new features

Custom Post Types in WordPress are such an under-utilized feature! They create better content organization and search engines love clear site architecture. It also helps clients manage their content easier.
