Nurses and medical staff are now openly saying that elderly patients were being classified as COVID regardless of their actual diagnosis, because hospitals received five times the reimbursement for a COVID admission. The people dying were elderly, already carrying multiple conditions, and the act of hospitalizing them was itself part of what killed them. Scientists call that a syndemic. Not a pandemic. The difference matters. Italy was the image used to frighten the world into compliance. I am still finding out what was actually happening here.
