Buckle up. Fourth Turning theory sees history as 80–100 year cycles. Each ends in crisis: old institutions collapse as shared values fracture, and new ones are born. Who is going to win this one?

@findnick1 @BrianRo88242805 @ProfessorPape Stop falling for all of that neocon Zio slop, buddy. Read alternative non western news outlets and study your history more. Sovereign country has every right to conduct business with who they want. It’s called free trade.

The ceasefire isn’t “breaking down" It’s doing exactly what zero-sum conflicts do: revealing the next phase of war What happens in the next 72 hours won’t be random. It will follow a pattern Here’s the framework almost no one is using

@alwaysbe4444 @BrianRo88242805 @ProfessorPape China's military buildup, 9 dash line, artificial islands, Taiwan ADIZ incursions, ramped-up aircraft and ship activity, funding Iranian oil, no limits pact with Russia before war, and Iranian proxies destabilizing the Middle East not connected to challenging U.S. dominance?

@findnick1 @BrianRo88242805 @ProfessorPape Hormuz was open before Iran was attacked twice. If you stop attacking it will reopen. Why would China invade Taiwan? Too much right wing media for you. US hubris will cause its own collapse, when it does will lead to vassal states reuniting w their adversaries.

My son told my wife today that he doesn’t love me because I don’t spend as much time with him as she does. I’m the sole income earner in our family of four and try to never work between 5pm and his bed time, and walk him to school every morning. What’s even the point of working this hard if your kids don’t even like you.

@TLBasti0n @TheOmniLiberal take God out of it and ask whether to choose a battle-hardened set of ideas with 2,000 years of real world practice that helped create a world of plenty, or one based on “do no harm” that sterilized kids and will destroy its civilization through low birth rates, its easy to pick.

This all boils down to what people consider morality to be. For christians, morality stems from god, meaning there are no actual principles behind it. If god told a christian to kill thier child, it would become the moral thing to do. That is definitionally moral relativism. If you believe morality is a human created system that attempts to spread the most good to the most amount of people, then you can believe in moral objectivity without knowing for sure what that objective morality looks like.

@Gabriel64609762 The context is absurd. Women have sacrificed tremendously to keep civilization afloat. Do you have any concept of how many women have died in childbirth? Be serious.

Feminism usually gets blamed for devaluing motherhood and stay-at-home-moms. But NO ONE is more disrespectful of stay-at-home motherhood than rightwing patriarchy bros. It’s almost like they just don’t want women to be able to win. Work outside the home, and you’re a feminist shill. Stay home with your kids, and you’re a privileged non-contributing freeloader. They don’t want you to vote because you can’t be drafted in the military, but if you join the Army of your own volition, they’ll accuse you of trying to be a man and make it crystal clear you’re not welcome there either. These guys need Jesus.

@Wilberforce61 @mandyarthur I don't think they know anything about rising girls as they aren't one, pretty simple isn't it? I don't agree with it but can see the logic.

@mandyarthur I think there’s probably a preference for men in general to have sons rather than daughters. A lot of men want a child the can relate to & do ‘boy stuff’ with like fishing, sports, hunting etc…

@robert_meece @jakerattlesnk There is literally no one who would choose potentially dying in a war over raising a family. Sure it’s tough, but there’s so much reward in it that most of us who have one have another one or several more. They’re not even comparable it. It’s a category error.

Hard to argue with this. Whatever your theological persuasion is, or lack of it, the pope is a moral force in the world where others are collapsing.

I’m an Aucklander grinding it out in this job market right now. Unemployment sits at 5.4% nationally — highest since 2015 — and it’s worse here in Auckland. Per capita GDP has been flat or falling for years. The China FTA delivered big export numbers but zero real lift in living standards for ordinary Kiwis. Now the India FTA is being signed this week with new dedicated Indian work visas — while locals like me can’t even get an interview for basic roles. I’ve seen these so-called “skilled” visas used for supermarket and gas station jobs that regular Kiwis are applying for and getting knocked back on. Something is seriously wrong here. Society has changed dramatically, and this level of change was never something the country agreed to. Screaming “racism” every time someone raises these legitimate economic concerns is a lazy, dishonest deflection. I’m worried about the future for my son and for all our kids. We cannot keep using migration as a GDP bandaid while Auckland strains and Kiwis get sidelined. Demand full transparency on the exact visa rules, labour market impact modelling, and infrastructure assessment before any ratification. Prioritise Kiwis first: invest in local training, and deliver real productivity growth. #NZIndiaFTA @winstonpeters @nzfirst @chrisluxonmp @nznational @ToddMcClayMP @henrycooke @EricaStanfordMP @coughlthom

The most likely explanation for Trump's Truth Social lies about Iran on Friday, is market manipulation. If so, Trump insiders must have made billions. The next likely possibility is that Trump is either delusional, incompetent, or a combination of both. Either way it's not good.

There is only one explanation for the failure of US politicians, on both sides of the aisle, to condemn years of Israeli atrocities... they have been bought.😒 And everyone knows it. This failure is leading to the failure of American democracy itself, which can only function on the appearance of justice being done. Unless you stand up against a totalitarian society, you will become one yourself. There is no choice.

@KurtMichelsen @ajthompson13 @shitwiper Why did you pivot to a wealth tax, I talked about untaxed income ie estates or capital gains, taxes that are extremely common and proven. Why do you want people to pay tax on money they've earned and give unearned incomes a free pass?

Labour considering 6 new taxes, describing them as “really good suggestions”. - Taxing income over $150,000 a year at 50 per cent - a more comprehensive capital gains tax - an inheritance tax - a wealth tax - windfall profit taxes - higher trust taxes

When Final Fantasy VIII came out (1999 surprise surprise!) it was the first time anyone had ever seen graphics like this. It was also the first time the musical director Nobuo Uematsu used a full orchestra choir in a FF game. It literally onehsotted everyone. Minds were blown.
