End of 25 to start of 26, I have the Dolphins: QB: + RB: same WR: - TE: same OL: + S: - CB: same (if Rasul returns) LB: + Edge: - IDL: same (if 25 rooks improve) The roster is full of holes, but it was last year too and we went 7-10. I don't think we're that much worse.

@flasportsbuzz There is also beauty in the draftniks giving fans enough insight to care about the draft. After it, I recognize that the team did more work and I have no choice but to trust them. But during it, I have a preference for what happens, and if I didn't, I wouldn't be watching.

I will also add that familiarity with a player (he plays for your college team!) also skews perception, drives criticism if your pro team bypasses that player. So some of you will be unhappy that Miami took an international pathway program TE and Jets took Anez Cooper 8 picks later. The beauty of the draft is everyone knows a year or two later who was right and who was wrong -- on everything.

What fuels anger by any fan base is very simple: Fans are conditioned to think that players' talents are determined by the order given them by 5 to 10 national draftniks. If your team rates a player much higher than a national draftnik did, you're conditioned to think it's a bad pick. Not all of you, but many of you. This has always been the case.

@ColtsCurmudgeon @TonkaParty2 @ProFootballTalk There's plenty out there online, I just don't see any benefit to shaving minutes/hours off of draft day, or the TV broadcasts. Like you said, season is 4 months away, so may as well milk draft day for all it's worth.

They shrunk the time in round one from 10 minutes to eight minutes. Next move to make: Shrink the Day 3 time from five minutes to three.

This is the issue. Shortened clock is great if announcements are keeping up. But when you are dragging three to four picks because you have all the other production stuff, it kills the purpose. Day 2 was great because it felt like the league kept fairly close to real time.
