No comment on abolishing the FCC, but Rush Limbaugh’s success as a national radio host occurred *after* the Fairness Doc’s repeal. He got a lot of mileage out of campaigning against its reinstatement, but no one ever “silenced” him. Rightwing talk radio was created by FD repeal.
