I really hope we aren't sleepwalking our way into a catastrophe in this year's presidential election. We know a far-right candidate has little chance of winning but we would do well to remember just how personality-based these campaigns are. We are going to see an unprecedented (for Ireland) overseas interference campaign orchestrated through this social media platform and others. Are we just going to wait and see? Hope for the best? How's that working out elsewhere?
