@formby1971 @ThisIsBrucifer @EngineerLondon @Hookean1 @physicsgirluk Alu is ubiquitous in the distribution network. One of the problems with it is corrosion which requires careful termination - which is why we don't use it much inside buildings. (IEEE wiring regs prohibit Al conductors < 16mm2)

One thing I find very odd about the inheritance tax debate is this idea that it is ‘wrong to tax money twice’. That happens all the time in our system. I’ve just paid VAT on a chocolate bar that I bought with my taxed income.
