This video has been doing the rounds today. Many saying the landing was scary and the pilot would be getting a coffee-less chat with their Chief Pilot. None of these people know what they’re talking about!! High winged aircraft use a different crosswind landing technique when compared to other airliners. They fly using a ‘wing down’ technique and not one where the aircraft flies nose into wind. This technique means that often the upwind wing is lower than downwind, and the upwind main gear often touches down first. In my view, and I’ve done a few of these, this is a text book wing down landing. Good job. #aviation #pilotlife #pilot #FactsNotClickbait

I would like to hear from an actual pilot who flew Concorde. What was it really like to fly? Walking through the terminal, knowing you weren't just another pilot—you were flying supersonic. Did it feel different? In the cockpit… the climb, the acceleration, the moment you passed Mach 1—did it ever feel normal?

A full sized flying replica of the #SouthernCross Fokker FVIIB has touched down at #SydneyAirport, marking a historic moment in Australian aviation. The landing was joined by Alex Kingsford-Smith, great grand nephew of Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith, and Charles Ulm, the grandson of Charles Ulm, in the lead up to the 100 year anniversary of the world’s first trans Pacific flight. Dick Smith, who has long supported the restoration project was also on the flight. The moment honours the legacy of Kingsford Smith, Ulm and their crew, as well as the many volunteers at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society in Shellharbour who restored this iconic aircraft. Seeing the Southern Cross back in the skies is a powerful reminder of how far aviation has come and the role Sydney Airport has played in connecting Australia to the world for more than a century.
