This is from an eBay group I’m in. Poster is going to flip something that cost him $2500 into $8000. The world has bitter people in it. They are the loud minority. You’ll likely come across these folks, especially if you’re self employed. I don’t usually prescribe to idea we are all competing, but this often is your competition. Folks that can’t see past the nearest hill and think it’s the top of the mountain. Don’t let them get to you. It won’t always be this obvious, but snide comments, what if statements, comparisons, the I’ve done more with less crowd, the it was hard for me so it has to be hard for you types. A couple of these characters can get in the way of a beautiful success story. Accept feedback from those you trust, seek to understand others perspectives, read about the paths traveled before you. Don’t let things live rent free. Choose what you retain. You only have so much mental energy.

@bradyshales I feel this, just had my second and getting in a routine is hard. Not to mention I’m still off from my 9-5. I better get one quick that’ll fit even when I return to the 9-5 again.

With kids sometimes it is hard to wake up with enough time to make purchase orders before I have to leave work. Needed to put in about 4 orders this morning and only got one in after evaluating a few leads the VA sent over. I will have to do it tonight after the kids go to bed or tomorrow morning since I am off work. I have tried purchasing while I am with my kids and it never goes well 🤣

@flippnSJ As a side note, if your bookkeeping goes out of business and your books are in Quickbooks or Xero...just find another bookkeeper. Can't easily do that with proprietary software.

@flippnSJ For day to day management you need an inventory management system / analytics software. Seller Board is good enough for this purpose. Month to month bookkeeping - Xero or Quickbooks.

@maxshoyat @TonyGainzzz Curious, do you/can you build this into the backend settings for seller amp? That way it’s easy to tell?

For me staying profitable has come down to understanding Amazon’s new fees and policies, and making sure you account for them when sourcing My biggest learning lesson for this was inbound placement fees. The months after it was rolled out, my margins tanked. I also didn’t have the systems in place to also quickly identify that shipping rates were the issue However, once I finally saw that my $/lb skyrocketed I knew that is where I had to either figure out a way to lower it or change my sourcing methods to account for it The best Amazon sellers always stay on top of the new fees, understand how it will affect their store, and quickly adapt

To all the Big Amazon Sellers who have been selling for years: If Amazon keeps increasing fees year after Doesn’t reimburse properly How are you profitable? Profits net margins are at 13-15% when scaling I get that but if you have been selling for years and fees are up, shouldn’t the margin drop? Or are you just better at sourcing overall so margins stay the same? Curious to know your thoughts.
