You heard it here first everyone. All of these open source projects are dead in 12 months: Linux - dead FFmpeg - dead cURL - dead Apache - dead Node.js - dead PostgreSQL - dead Git - dead TensorFlow - dead Someone tell Linus Torvalds to start updating his resume.
Grummz@Grummz

I think AI has killed Open Source. In the short term, AI is going to overwhelm Open Source reviewers who won't be able to keep up with reviewing submissions. In the long term (12 months), there is no need for Open Source software when AI can write it all on demand.

@flux3264 what Galois literally came up with the notion of a group and developed much of the initial theory Grothendieck came at a time much later when that abstract algebra had already come to be. Please let's not be silly here.

I do wonder how we'll give these models the levels of intuition that Abel, Galois, Grothendieck, Einstein, Ramanujan, etc had. Indeed, how to even surpass that...

@luismbat xddd that's the most stupid take I've seen in whole week. The only difference between math and physics is that first is formal and other empirical, running experiments in math means just doing physics

controversial take: "software engineering" is not engineering, should not be engineering, does not benefit from analogies and ideas from engineering. I am happy that bridges don't fall down and cars don't explode and will pay for an expensive and extractive professional system to ensure this - but software is not like that.

The most lua code ever written in lua? I may be the biggest lua hater, but Codex seems to be the real lover - he seems to really feels the lua vibes, today has generated me a real masterpiece describing this language better then I ever would in English

@abdimoalim_ @OlexGameDev Everything is nice until you'll stamp on adjacency call and you're starting to hate someone that thought that calling functions without brackets is a good idea

@OlexGameDev I think an expression parser is one of the first things taught in parser design, mostly with bracket balancing, precedence, associativity, etc.

Is math operator precedence the toughest challenge in compiler front end implementation? It was a doozy but it works now. Parenthesis should be easier.
