@BrendanEich I'm trying to download something on Brave, and it's flagged, and instead of a warning, it just won't download... Really?

@Brave grew to over 107.4M Monthly Active Users (MAU) in December 2025. Brave Browser MAU grew 2.5%, while DAU was flat due to holidays. Monthly new users grew 8.6%! See 5/5. Brave Search QPD growth was 2.3%, with over 9% coming from non-Brave browsers, driven by Android. 1/5

@Brave grew to over 104.8M Monthly Active Users (MAU) in November 2025. Brave Browser MAU growth rebounded from last month as expected, while DAU saw average growth. Brave Search QPD growth was above average, with over 9% coming from non-Brave browsers, driven by Android. 1/4

@BrendanEich @hjanuschka @brave @fmarier @_brianclifton @dhh That would be nice. Ideally, for the least friction for new users, it would be nice if Brave automatically falls back to this basic storage strategy without manual flags (perhaps subtly telling user they should setup keyring for best security).

@Brave hit 97.8M Monthly Active Users (MAU) in August 2025. Brave Search at 1.56B Queries Per Month (QPM) annualizes to 18.36B QPY. All-browsers summer slump is over. On to 100M MAU! Of particular note: from June to August 2025, we have seen a 26.4% increase in Linux MAU. 1/4

@Brave grew to 93.79M Monthly Active Users (MAU) in July 2025. Brave Search at 1.51B QPM annualizes to 17.8B QPY. Despite the browser summer slump, one of our strongest Julys on record. Monthly new browser users up 6.5% vs. June. Both browser and search hit all-time-highs. 1/4

@BrendanEich switching to Brave and my main sticking point is there's no password generating feature in the password manager. I use this feature a lot to generate and save passwords for unimportant services i sign up to. the other browsers all have this feature, it would be nice.

At the Google antitrust remedy trial yesterday, the "Firefox CFO" misspoke, using MAU when asked Firefox DAU in U.S. 2nd image from data.firefox.com/dashboard/user… (select United States from dropdown on right). Mix of confusion & honest mistake, nbd. Brave may pass Firefox this year.

@johnbind2 @DeplorableSEO Yes, Google tolerates scrapers (smirked "we'll look into that" when we reported egregious cases), it's part of their high-vs-low against the middle. Serp{API,er} as _Lumpenproletariat_ to wield against Bing & Brave. (No JS whinage, I worked on it for 20 years to get to ES202x.)

@ja_wolski @burnedmind @DaddyWarpig I access yandex all the time in Brave. What error page or dialog do you get? Screenshot best, DMs open. Could you be suffering from an ISP or nation state firewall that abuse the DNS, and perhaps Firefox uses a different DoH provider? Cc: @arthuredelstein @fmarier for followup.

@AbbasAlly5 @BrendanEich @brave I assume it's the Search CAPTCHA? I've not seen that problem before. Are you able to share a screenshot of the CAPTCHA (there are multiple versions of it, all different) by any chance?

Brave Search is up +8.4% m-o-m, over 1B QPM, with a Chromium "back/forward cache" bugfix boost. Brave the browser High-Water-Mark DAU is over 30M users now. We're focused on growth + retention. On search, we will rescue users whom we defaulted to Google, pre-Brave-Search. 1/4
BrendanEich@BrendanEich

Brave Search is up +3% month over month. Brave the browser high-watermark DAU is almost 30M users, up +5% from July. The "summer slump", familiar to browser vendors, due to holidays + school breaks, ended in the last week of August. We saw search and browser growth surge. 1/4

@BrendanEich @mahesh_subham @brave @BraveSupport What we're looking into is to allow Sync users to optionally linking their Sync data to an email address + password, preserving E2E encryption: - remember your password => you can recover, even if you've lost all your devices - lose your password and devices => out of luck

This isn't just about link decoration to track users for ad-tech -- as with X's &t= ad YouTube's &si= (removed by Brave Copy Link / Copy Clean Link), IG's equivalent URL decoration IDs anon IG users to Meta. Thanks to @gateklons (see h/t from @fmarier at #issuecomment-1874741800" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/brave/brave-br…).

Woah. This is a huge deal, demands tech press attention. If Facebook moves forward, the FTC should be ready with (another) inquiry. This report says Facebook is going to start tracking web activity for users who have turned off “Off-Facebook Activity.” First, some background. /1

First thank you for your efforts and for responding. What I mean is that when the app needs to fit on a smaller screen with a ratio that favors the vertical, that tabs and ui controls are some how still usable. Firefox ESR has some good pointers. Right now I have to use tab groups to have a chance. You see that the URL is occluded as well. Perhaps allowing the navigation buttons to collapse together and to pop open on tap vertically might be one method shrinking the UI. Once again, I am grateful that it is available on Arm64 and when docked and using a larger screen it runs beautifully. Really great job all around as usual.

@brave @BrendanEich Seeing how lost Mozilla is these days, and how important Brave is. Also in light of the great work of getting Brave on Linux mobile phones like the PinePhone and Librem 5, could I beg for Brave desktop to handle convergence better on a smartphone screen.
