Kagame just admitted sanctions hurt, then said he doesn’t care. That’s not defiance. That’s a ruler declaring that the suffering of his own people is acceptable collateral for his wars. Rwandans pay the price. He keeps the minerals.
He is a liar. For years he denied that @RwandaMoD / RDF was in #DRCongo at all. Then the evidence, @UN reports, satellite imagery, defector testimonies…became impossible to dismiss. So the narrative shifted: from denial to justification. That’s not a policy pivot. That’s a caught man rebranding.
He rules Rwanda with zero tolerance for dissent. Journalists jailed. Critics disappeared. Anyone who dares challenge his version of events pays for it. Today he’s telling the world he’ll absorb sanctions rather than stop committing crimes against Rwandans and Congolese alike.
So the real question is: who exactly is absorbing these sanctions? The world must unite against this, because silence is complicity.

#RDC: Sur la question des sanctions, Macron a été clair : ni la France ni l'Union européenne ne comptent suivre Washington. Interrogé sur la possibilité que Paris ou l'UE adoptent des mesures similaires à celles infligées par l'OFAC aux Forces de défense du #Rwanda, le président français a écarté cette option, estimant qu'une course aux sanctions risquait de braquer Kigali plutôt que de l'inciter à coopérer. La position française, qu'il dit porter également au niveau européen, privilégie le dialogue et la médiation collective sur la pression coercitive.

is having supported Tshisekedi in 2018 because he “wouldn’t be any different” and wouldn’t defend the interests of the Congolese people… because he is tough on your beloved Kigali regime.
Yet you have never criticized the fact that your friend Paul Kagame, who has been in de facto power for 32 years (since 1994), changed the Constitution to remain in office until 2034.
You even regularly defend his position on eastern DRC and speak of Rwanda’s “legitimate concerns.”
Your hypocrisy is glaring: a dictator who has been in power for 32 years and who is accused by numerous NGOs and UN reports of being “the butcher of the Great Lakes region” clearly doesn’t bother you at all.

Don’t even worry about dear @nicksortor. These aren’t Congolese people. They’re Rwandan actors paid to put on a street performance by Rwandan President Paul Kagame. Kagame is under U.S. sanctions, and he’s trying to block the strategic U.S.–DRC agreement that guarantees you (USA) access to critical minerals that the Chinese used to have. Kagame hired these professional paid protesters to pose as Congolese. Honestly, it would be great if you deported them to Kinshasa, since they’re claiming to be Congolese. We’re completely on the same page with you. People like this shouldn’t be allowed to invade your country through criminal immigration. On top of that, the DRC has signed an agreement with Washington to take in migrants who refuse to leave the U.S. At least 30 people from Latin America have already arrived in Kinshasa. You’d be doing us a huge favor by deporting the ones in these images.
