In Mayan mythology, cenotes were more than geological formations. They were gateways to Xibalba, the underworld, a realm of gods, death, myth, and transformation. nomads of xibalba brings that ancient threshold into the present. Today, the void lives in our hands, our screens, and our routines. We move through ordinary life while circling black openings where attention disappears, hours dissolve, and the self is quietly fed back into the machinery of distraction. Within Digital Encounters, the piece answers the programme’s guiding question with a darker possibility: "In a world of infinite information and impulses, what carries enough meaning to become myth?" Maybe the myth is no longer the hero, the god, or the grand shared story. Maybe it is the collective experience of being summoned, consumed, and returned emptier than before. Modest is an anonymous internet-native artist building worlds through images, systems, stories, music, and the strange emotional architecture of digital life.
