When I was buying a house many years ago, I went to see a nice house at the end of a culdesac. Walked in th door and was slapped in the face with an almost visible curry smell.
That smell is never ever coming out. It’s in the walls, carpet, frame, insulation, everything. Only another Indian is buying that house.

I don't understand why everyone dreads long flights so much.
I feel like I change the trajectory of my life every time I take a 20-hour flight across the world.
I sit on my computer, listen to podcasts, write, work, introspect, and plan my next season of life (usually fueled by a fair amount of caffeine).
By the end of it, I've produced a bunch of content, clarified my vision, and know the exact moves that will get me to the next level.
Looking back, long flights often end up being the most transformational days of my year. I look forward to them every time I go traveling for this reason.

I feel so disgusted with the generational vibe that told us that having kids wasn’t a priority and that being a mom was kind of a lesser path. Dealing right now with someone close to me who completely missed the life she should have had, which would have made her very happy— as a mom of a bunch of kids. She believed the social justice messages and made other choices. Materialistic superficial choices btw. She’s traveled extensively and has fancy appliances and a nice (huge, empty) house — and a bunch of social justice bona fides. She was misled. This isn’t someone who was always a bit salty and never wanted kids. She wanted them, but it seemed lame and selfish and not as important as her SJW pursuits. (Which amounted to what? Nothing. The whole thing was a vibe.) I have the same life advice.

@supertrucker I was a sahm living abroad and came across phonics at the pre k my daughter attended( Instead of sight words) I taught my daughter all 60 or so phonics before she even entered kindergarten.

My son is in kindergarten, his school uses the sight-word method for reading, and because we don't use that shit at home, he's crushing his evaluations.
When schools stopped teaching phonics, kids stopped learning how to read. Stop letting schools do this to your kids.
