Wild that some of the most interesting projects in the world are happening in countries like: - Honduras (@Prosperahn) - Brazil (@Founder_Haus ) - Malaysia (@ns ) - UAE (everything) Europe seems like old and stopped when you live in one of these places. The one thing Europe can be good at is being demonised, attracting the best talent. Lisbon is an AI hub not because the best AI companies have an HQ there, but because it has the community, the lifestyle and the humans who are building in the AI space. Talent attraction with intention is the real name of the game.

We wrapped up @ipecity Village 2026 last week, and for the first time, it really felt like we were building a city. Multiple Hacker Houses. Shared intent. Crypto infrastructure. Dozens of city apps. Frontier technologies. Collective action. Our goal was to attract 500+ attendees. Tbh, halfway through the pop-up, I wasn’t sure we would reach it. But in the final week, we smashed it, reaching 535 check-ins throughout the month, a 200%+ growth YoY. We hosted 3 Hacker Houses + 1 sponsored residency with @Artizen, representing 200% growth from 2025. Working, integrated city and governance apps jumped from roughly 8 last year to 30+ this year. Sponsors grew from 3 to 8. Thanks to @artizen, @zama, @raycashxyz, @VeritasVillages, @yodlpay, @Tangem, @rootstock_io, and @HostGator. Revenue increased by 600%, Last year, we didn’t host workshops, distribute grants, offer prizes, or give scholarships. This year, we hosted 35 events, including around 20 workshops on blockchain, privacy protocols, vibecoding, and AI. We will distribute $10k+ in grants and prizes, and have given away 20+ scholarships for students and locals. Of course, these are the tangible, quantitative metrics. The qualitative side -- the frontier vibe, the experiments, the learnings, the optimism -- is harder to put into a spreadsheet or deck. But arguably, they are the most valuable. Yesterday at Sapiens Park, we had the opportunity to meet with Nicolas Martins, the Secretário Adjunto of Technology and Innovation for the State of Santa Catarina. ​It was a powerful moment to align the FloripaDEZ vision with the state’s innovation roadmap.
