I have a real problem with political gerrymandering. Last week, the Supreme Court ruled to limit parts of the Voting Rights Act. Ultimately, this will make it easier for states to dilute the votes of Black voters and other minority groups. We need to outlaw gerrymandering. Period.

@SenatorHick Mail in voting is highly susceptible to fraud. If you can’t show up to a poll to vote then you don’t get to vote. An elected official can’t mail in a vote to his congress, can you? Same should apply.

I’ll say it until the cows come home.  The SAVE Act is voter suppression. Mail-in voting is done in red and blue states alike. It’s safe and secure.   I'm still a hell NO on the SAVE Act.

The Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act, which has protected voters from discriminatory redistricting for decades. Within hours, Republicans all over the country rushed to pass aggressive gerrymanders. This is voter suppression with a rubber stamp of approval, and it’s wrong. I spent my career as a prosecutor believing the law protects everyone equally. This ruling sends us back in time and tells folks their votes can be diluted and their voices silenced. Well, I refuse to sit back and let that reality take effect without a fight. Congress must act to restore these protections, and that’s exactly what I’ll do when elected.

This is why lifetime positions in the Supreme Court must be abolished. All it took to take America back to the days of Jim Crow was six woefully out of touch conservative Supreme Court justices to gut The Civil Rights Act. Women have lost autonomy over their bodies and Black people have lost their representation in congress.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. Today, I am pushing my TERM Act, which would create term limits for Supreme Court Justices, and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
