Took some time off camera to reset and focus on my health. Doing much better now so I figured I’d share an updated photo.

@artsyomni Definitely agree on all accounts (haven’t seen Galaxy yet but very much feel this way about the first movie), but it’d be nice to get more out of the story. Take ATLA or Batman: The Animated series for example - digestible by kids but has enough depth for older audiences to like.

Interestingly, it almost makes me more curious and optimistic about a potential Star Fox movie, because there's not enough built-in history there with audiences to utilize the same strategy. They might actually have to make a real movie. And that possibility is intriguing. =P

Some general thought about both Mario movies: While I enjoy these experiences, I think what's so confounding about these movies is that they seem to have little interest in speaking the language of cinema. It's like they have a totally different objective.

@artsyomni @Kyru117 Now that I look into it a bit more too I think I see a better comparison. 12hrs 6min runtime of Trilogy at ~$530M (today’s $) vs ~45hr runtime ~$1B. Probably should’ve spent more budget on the writing then lol (and costume design). But yeah CGI and sets probably rack up the bill.

Can anyone in the animation industry elucidate how Illumination's low-cost model materially affects the end product compared to other studios? When I see the Mario Movie, it doesn't strike me as a cheap-looking movie.

Nintendo is doing the thing (variable pricing) in a way people have said they wanted (cheaper digital games). $69.99 for Yoshi physically, $59.99 digitally. Reason? Rising cost of physical, basically. Do you like the change?

This, over Nintendo suing for tariff funds back to themselves. The reason I don't make any hard political stances is simply because I don't have any. My level of care for politics left my body 15 years ago after watching it tear apart my family. I learned how much it divides, instead of brings us together. I am just not interested in being part of that. I cover the news. Think whatever you like.

@JeremyAlessi Exactly why I’m planning on switching to Linux when I build my next pc.

It’s easy to think of and communicate new ideas. It’s impossible to verbally convince someone of those ideas. It’s easier to bring those ideas into reality by building but it’s long, hard, and lonely. Yet, an idea well-executed, instantly convinces people to abandon the old.
