@larpcapitalwc I know it’s a joke but in all honesty, name one person who made money on straddles. Even like a hero trade or a well known investor/trader/fund, I truly cant think of any and suspect the vast majority of traded straddles are pure quant driven for like a 0.2% over 1 or 2 days

@joeshortsqueeze Private equity HVAC, electrical, and plumbing is a serious blight for homeowners, especially those who’ve never owned a home and don’t know any better
English

@emre_mayo @conorsen I think there’s like $5B of development planned for downtown Atlanta right now, so I think your point is more true for cities like Chicago, Minneapolis etc

@NoFoolinTulin @RonnieRaley @SteveLovesAmmo Your level of education is indeed highly correlated to your parent’s income
English

@RonnieRaley @SteveLovesAmmo It's about NY and CA public school education and people I have met. I will add that MOST people that went to private school seem to be smarter than most people I've met that received education from the public school system. There are always exceptions though.

@md33181 @nick_____t @rubencristiano9 @abarber1 If a $100 item drops to $0, the decrease is 100%. In his 'internally consistent' system where you divide the change by the final price, a drop to zero would be a $100 decrease divided by $0, which is undefined
English

@md33181 @nick_____t @rubencristiano9 @abarber1 Internal consistency isn't a substitute for external accuracy. You can have an internally consistent system where 2+2=5, but that doesn't make it useful for balancing a checkbook.
English

@gainerham @nick_____t @rubencristiano9 @abarber1 Looooool. Do you know what 'internal consistency' means? There is an internally consistent system in which that decrease is 33%
English

@Slothsama @yuyuslivestream Pretty simple to just divide it by the total number of available points up to that assignment
English

@yuyuslivestream my photography teacher, by all accounts an alright dude, marked UP from zero. like if you got an 80 on a project worth 10% of your final grade then you just straight up had an 8 in that class. report cards were insane. EVERYONE was technically failing until he graded our finals!

@BarackObama Wdym by “although”?
It’s obvious what the motive was, call it out for what it is.
English

Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night's shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay.

@RealBeto1812 @tufpraise 7 months old. The vaccine is given at 12 months. He caught it because of anti vaxxers in his community

@MTishchenko @HairyCooIII @theonkartwt @neet_sol There’s a difference between having 5-7 interview steps and “in one go.” Even your outline with basically 3 different types of technical assessments is something that should probably be either put into a take home or pushed into one longer form interview
English

@gainerham @HairyCooIII @theonkartwt @neet_sol I don’t think you understand. If the candidate pool is sizeable then it is unwise to do it in one go
English

@MTishchenko @HairyCooIII @theonkartwt @neet_sol If you’re interviewing for an expensive role, normally both parties have expensive time, but companies expect candidates to take time off to do the dance for them
English

@HairyCooIII @theonkartwt @neet_sol Yea, if you don’t see the value of reflection and contemplation as well feel just fine committing an afternoon of expensive people’s time
English

@sircalebhammer @TheOmniLiberal Just do what you want, you can never appease the mob

@meatymcsorley Like 99% of longevity guy info is correlative at best, likely collinear to something that actually matters. For example, people with high grip strength in old age are likely more active/exercise and lift heavy objects more often. Which is the prime driver there?
