@LalitAditya1212 Veda ritualistic is mainly on yagna. Where as tamil culture rituals are with water and flower. Why we saw vedic culture is not ours is it deals with fire. People in cold country will use fire our land is tropical land where water is mainly used as rituals in abhsikeam.

Now that it is clear that nāṉmaṟai are clearly mentioned in the prelude of Tolkāppiyam, let's have a look at how certain people do mental gymnastics about it. Before we counter why they refer to the Four Vedas, let's see what else this person claims it can be: - "it can be the indigenous Tamil concept of Tamil marais, aram, porul, inbam and veedu." First of all, aṟam, poruḷ, iṉpam and vīṭu are direct translations of dharma, artha, kāma and mokṣa respectively. These are not "indigenous" in any sense. They are not "maṟai" but uṟutipporutkaḷ (உறுதிப்பொருட்கள்). In fact, the earlier texts mention only three such concepts and NOT four, failing to explain the nāṉ in nāṉmaṟai. Tirukkuṟaḷ itself is divided into only three parts based on aṟam, poruḷ and iṉpam. It mirrors the older trivarga in Sanskrit literature as mentioned in Kāmasūtra, Arthaśāstra, Manusmṛti, and Mahābhārata. Mokṣa/vīṭu always existed as a concept but joined the other three later. - "Pillars of Tamil wisdom - iyal, isai, nadagam, yathiram" - again, only the first three are the real pillars, which are called muttamiḻ (முத்தமிழ்). So the two suggestions of the refuter are clearly wrong and are NOT real meanings of the mentioned nāṉmaṟai. Now, what is "maṟai" itself? Maṟai refers to something "hidden" or something deeper than what it is literally. It is a basic Tamil word even now. The pillars of Tamil wisdom, or the Puruṣārthas/Uṟutipporutkaḷ are not hidden/deep in any sense, unlike the Four Vedas which were gatekept by the Brāhmaṇas by the time of Tolkāppiyam. The text actually looks at Vedas with reverence. Now, there is second level of mental gymastics. Now that it is clear that the term refers to the Four Vedas, there are people who claim that mentioning does not mean reverence. Sure, correct. But can we see what Tolkāppiyar says: Cēyōṉ is the lord of Kuṟiñci, just like Vēntaṉ (Indra) of Marutam (fertile lands, since Indra is the lord of rain and fertility), and Varuṇaṉ (Varuṇa) of Neytal (coast, because Varuṇa is the lord of waters).

@LalitAditya1212 Yes I am saying about the thanthai periyar. I was a against him but when I feel dived into thirumari the philosophy of him and tamil saivam is very similar except one or two points. That's why tamil saivam mutt like kundra kudi adigalar and gnaniar swamigal supported periyar.

A note on what Tamil means for me. A quick background: I am a Tamil Brahmin who was brought up in various cities in West, North and South India, outside TN. Thus I have had no formal training in the Thamizh language at all. I speak a Brahminical dialect of Tamil, heavily influenced by the Palakkad way of speaking (Malayalam touch). My father staunchly believed that I should know my mother tongue properly (he himself isn't brought up in TN). He made me join a Thamizh class when I was in 3rd grade. I am brought up with Vedas, Carnatic music in Sanskrit, Telugu and Tamil, along with Tamil hymns like those of Thiruppavai and Thiruppugazh. My mother is an ardent devotee of Lord Murugan and has learnt many Thiruppugazh songs. I learnt most of them from my mom only. I did my college in TN, engineering degree. I took 2 Tamil courses, beginner and intermediate. I was the only person who had never learnt Tamil in school at all in the entire class, yet I put effort and got a good grade. Learning Tamil Epics made my dream come true. I have never thought of a "Tamil vs Sanskrit" thing in my house. Our day starts with Venkatesa Suprabhatam and Skanda Guru Kavacham. In fact, to me, our culture was the most Sanskritic (my school Sanskrit teacher once told my mom only you South Indians [SI Brahmins] participate in so many Sanskrit competitions). After all, we are one of the few communities in India to actively sing songs in Sanskrit (not shlokas but actual songs). My dad had told me: Tamil is your mother tongue and Sanskrit is your father tongue. And I still follow it. In fact, once my dad made a joke that our ancestors were from Andhra and before that from Gujarat. I was 8 or something back then? I literally started crying, saying "No, I'm Thamizh". There was a brief period when my love for Thamizh made me a Dravidianist sympathiser. I had told my 11th standard North Indian (ex-)girlfriend that I would keep a "pure Thamizh" name for my kid too, lol. Times changed, views changed. What I am writing now is out of pure love for my language and culture, without any modern politics that I keep fighting on in this platform. From the bottom of my heart: தமிழ் வாழ்க. Very rare of me to say this, purely because of modern-day politics. Nothing I am writing is for validation from D-stocks. I hate them from the bottom of my heart. No city can beat BLR's ecosystem which is built over 15+ years. BLR is simple, the city doesn't make noise like the neighbors which relies on PAID PR posts. The city gets a lot of C level mmt. folks who travel and hardly u hear them on the news. If it was in our neighboring city, the minister would have made it national headlines. BLR doesn't need PR for its growth, it's all natural.

@reclaimchennai I have two genuine doubts. Since the airport is inside the city is there any fsi restrictions. 2. Do we have a proper drainage system setup to receive from a large building.
