Israel, which bars the International Committee of the Red Cross from visiting Palestinian detainees despite obligations under the Geneva Conventions, announced Thursday that Prime Minister Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar have ordered the initiation of a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times over a column by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nicholas Kristof documenting rape and sexual abuse of Palestinian in Israeli detention facilities.
According to Palestinian prisoners’ rights groups, Israel currently holds roughly 9,600 Palestinian “security” detainees in its vast network of torture prisons. Only 1,310 have been sentenced, while 3,376 are being held under administrative detention without charge or trial.
Legal observers note the move could carry major risks for Israel if the case advances into discovery. NYT lawyers could seek to subpoena internal Israeli government communications, detention records, military documents, and testimony from officials under oath.

Israeli soldiers have gone on Israeli television and said they use dogs to r•pe prisoners. Israeli settlers raided a military base in July 2024 and rioted for the “right to r•pe” after reservists were arrested for r•ping a male prisoner to death with a steel bar. After the right to r•pe riots a member of the Israeli Knesset proclaimed that Israeli soldiers had the right to do whatever they wanted to to Palestinian prisoners, including r•pe. Quite literally no group of people have provided more evidence of the widespread, systematic sexual abuse of Palestinian prisoners at the hands of the IDF than Israelis themselves. At least 200 children dead, 800 more injured. One paramedic rushed to a strike site and found his own child among the casualties. A boy who survived said he heard the warplanes, his mother called him inside, then the explosion hit. The medics are dying before they can reach the wounded. There's nobody left to fill that gap. what happened over the past few days is pretty amazing. The Israeli regime knew Nick Kristof was going to publish his NYT piece on their actual systematic rape of Palestinians including children and the use of dogs to rape, so they fabricated a new "report", the most insane one yet copy-pasted together by a proven fraud that repeats all the already debunked falsehoods and relies entirely on known proven hoaxers, and they actually got the NYT, BBC, CNN, AP, Reuters to launder it for them a day after the Kristof piece came out to bury it. They own the entire media class completely.
