When it comes to transformation and infrastructure, the difference between the PDP and our great party, the APC, is like the difference between the sky and the ground. The results are visible for all to see in roads, bridges, rail, airports, housing and other critical sectors.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE NIGERIA, UNITED STATES DEEPEN COOPERATION ON SECURITY, COUNTERTERRORISM AS RIBADU MEETS VANCE, RUBIO Nigeria and the United States are forging ahead in deepening cooperation on security, counterterrorism, regional stability, and strategic partnership. Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who undertook a three-day working visit to the United States from May 4 to May 6, held a series of high-level engagements with senior officials of the U.S. government and conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strong commitment to Nigeria’s longstanding strategic partnership with the United States. Ribadu met with US Vice President J. D. Vance, the Acting National Security Advisor and Secretary of State, Marco Rubio; the Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Allison Hooker; and Assistant Secretary of War Daniel Zimmerim. The meetings provided an opportunity for both sides to review the current state of Nigeria–United States relations and to further strengthen ongoing collaboration in counterterrorism, defence cooperation, intelligence sharing, regional security, economic resilience, and democratic governance. Ribadu emphasised the importance of sustained cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges confronting West Africa and the broader Sahel region, particularly terrorism, violent extremism, transnational organised crime, and cyber threats. The NSA noted that Nigeria remains fully committed to working with international partners in promoting peace, stability, democratic governance, and economic development across Africa. He further underscored Nigeria’s role as a regional leader and frontline state in counterterrorism efforts across the Lake Chad Basin and West Africa. Discussions also focused on the evolving security situation in the Sahel, the need for enhanced regional cooperation, and the importance of strengthening institutional capacity to respond effectively to complex and asymmetric threats. During his meeting with Under Secretary for Political Affairs Allison Hooker at the U.S. Department of State, NSA Ribadu expressed Nigeria’s appreciation to the U.S. government for its continued support and cooperation in various sectors, particularly in security assistance, intelligence collaboration, defence capacity building, humanitarian support, and counterterrorism operations. He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to implementing the agreed roadmap under the Nigeria–U.S. Joint Working Group (JWG), established to advance structured bilateral cooperation on strategic and security-related matters. Both sides reviewed progress under the JWG framework. They discussed practical measures to enhance the implementation of agreed initiatives, including intelligence sharing, military cooperation, counterterrorism support, border security, strategic communications, and capacity development for Nigerian security institutions. The discussions also highlighted the importance of maintaining regular channels of communication and strengthening institutional coordination between the two countries to address common security challenges. The NSA also used the opportunity to brief U.S. officials on ongoing reforms and operational measures being undertaken by the Government of Nigeria to improve national security, stabilise affected communities, and address the root causes of insecurity. He emphasised the administration’s whole-of-government approach, which combines kinetic and non-kinetic measures, including community engagement, economic development, deradicalisation initiatives, and regional partnerships. U.S. officials commended Nigeria’s continued leadership role in regional peace and security efforts and acknowledged Nigeria's importance as a strategic partner of the United States in Africa. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to democratic values, regional stability, economic cooperation, and the promotion of sustainable peace and security across West Africa and the Sahel. The meetings concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen further bilateral engagement through sustained diplomatic dialogue, enhanced defence and security cooperation, and the effective implementation of ongoing bilateral initiatives under the Joint Working Group framework. Both Nigeria and the United States expressed optimism about the future of the strategic partnership. They reaffirmed their readiness to continue working closely to advance shared interests and address common global and regional challenges. There is something we all need to reflect on as the 2027 elections draw nearer. The opposition may have plenty of aspiring candidates. Still, it is clear they appear fragmented, recycled, and largely unclear about what exactly they are offering Nigerians beyond dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu. So far, none of those seeking the presidency has presented a convincing, practical alternative agenda or a clear roadmap for what they would do differently for the country. Nigerians will not risk losing President Tinubu to those who don’t have clear plans, ideas, workable policies or a vision capable of moving our dear Nigeria forward. So, it is PBAT till 2031 ✔️

Guys read this so that you will not sleep in prison. 1: Nigerian Armed Forces have a comprehensive social media policy designed to protect NATIONAL SECURITY, Prevent the Leakage of operational information, and maintain the professional image of the Military. 2: the policy is not intended to silence individuals but rather to strike a balance between FREE SPEECH and NATIONAL SECURITY. 3: There is a SOCIAL MEDIA DIRECTORATE to monitor compliance and address security beeches. 4: the security of the nation is greater than the liberty of any individual. Read Dokubo-Asari vs FRN 2007. 5: don’t discuss “coup or political change” with any military officers. It is a treasonable felony. 6: Don’t let the “applause” lead you to prison .

Mark Chidiebere was arrested after talking with some soldiers about “changing the government.” That's coup plotting in disguise. It’s okay to criticise, but involving soldiers in politics is serious. The Nigerian Army saw it as a threat to national safety. It is well with him.

SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT A BATTLEFIELD COMMAND – WHY THE NIGERIAN ARMY’S ACTION AGAINST JUSTICE CRACK IS A NATIONAL SECURITY IMPERATIVE By Tijjani Tanko INTRODUCTION: NATION AT WAR CANNOT AFFORD A SECOND FRONT Nigeria is not at peace. Across the North East, North West, and North Central, our armed forces are locked in daily combat against terrorists and bandits. Thousands of soldiers are deployed forward, often without rotation, facing an enemy that watches every word on social media. In this environment, the difference between “free speech” and “subversive act” is not academic – it is life and death. The Nigerian Army recently arrested a social media influencer, Justice Mark Chidiebere (known as “Justice Crack”), and handed him to civil authorities. His crime: systematically spreading content designed to turn soldiers against their commanders over welfare issues – beyond legitimate criticism into active incitement of insubordination. Public outcry has followed, with many calling the Army a silencer of whistleblowers. This statement argues the opposite: the Army acted lawfully, proportionately, and in the highest interest of national security. WHAT JUSTICE CRACK ACTUALLY DID On 2 May 2026, the Army announced the arrest of Justice Crack alongside several soldiers. Investigations showed he had built direct communication lines with frontline troops. He did not merely amplify complaints about rations or equipment – he actively urged soldiers to question their commanders’ legitimacy, refuse orders, and post videos attacking military hierarchy. Some soldiers admitted receiving small payments to share internal grievances that should have gone through proper channels. Crucially, the Army did not court‑martial the influencer. He was handed over to civilian police for normal criminal prosecution. That is not military dictatorship; that is constitutional democracy where no one – influencer or general – is above the law. WHY THE CRITICISM IS MISPLACED AND DANGEROUS First, critics confuse “whistleblowing” with “subversion.” A real whistleblower reports specific, verifiable wrongdoing to lawful authorities – Defence Headquarters, Human Rights Commission, or the media with evidence. Justice Crack did none of that. He broadcast unverified, one‑sided narratives meant to make soldiers feel abandoned. In a war zone, that is not transparency; it is psychological warfare. Second, timing is everything. Isolated welfare lapses exist in every army – including the US, UK, and Russia. But during war, amplifying those lapses in real time to combat units hands the enemy a propaganda tool. Terrorist groups already use such posts to claim “the Nigerian Army is starving” or “commanders don’t care,” lowering troop morale and encouraging desertion. Third, the Army acted with restraint. No soldier was shot. No journalist was jailed. The influencer was detained, investigated, and transferred to civilian police – exactly the same process for any civilian who incites factory workers to sabotage production during wartime. Why should the military be held to a lower standard? Fourth, the slippery slope argument cuts both ways. Critics fear any arrest will clamp down on dissent. But the greater risk is inaction: if the military does nothing while influencers systematically undermine command authority, the result will be crumbling discipline, friendly fire, and avoidable deaths. Which is more humane – arresting one influencer for investigation, or allowing a thousand soldiers to die because they lost faith in their leaders? THE HARSH REALITY OF WARTIME MORALE Military psychology is clear: a soldier who believes his nation has abandoned him hesitates. In counter‑insurgency, hesitation kills. The difference between a successful ambush and a fatal one is often split seconds. When a frontline soldier spends his rest time watching a viral video accusing his commander of stealing his meal allowance, trust in the chain of command erodes.

A Chieftain of the ADC Dr Umar Ardo from Adamawa State, just granted an interview to an online Medium DCL where he categorically stated that they are in Court over the irregular registration of the new bride NDC.He claimed that the party was registered without fulfilling the registration requirement but by a Court order granted by a Judge who once served in Bayelsa.Peter and Kwankwaso filled for divorce and married a new partner.Naturally, abrupt divorce comes with pains, anger and consequences. The Ex will irrationally hunt you. This time around don’t blame the President or the ruling party.

We told you so. The political nomad is on the move again. Ignore all those puerile reasons he gave in these illogical musings, a self-serving letter to his mob. Peter Obi is a politician made of jelly, an opportunistic fellow. He can't fight Atiku or Amaechi for the ticket of ADC. He pursues the easy road, that will only lead him to doom, like in 2023. He always blames the government without doing a soul-searching of himself. Welcome, Peter to the 2027 race.
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

B@ndits Abd¥ct the family members of the Deputy Governor of Sokoto Suspected b@ndits have kidn+pped eight people in Garin Idi village, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, including relatives of the state’s deputy governor. Residents said the att@ckers stormed the community around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, riding motorcycles and firing g+nshots, forcing many villagers to flee into nearby bushes and safe areas. The assailants reportedly operated for about two hours without any security response. A resident described the incident as harrowing, saying, “I have never heard g+nshots as intense as what we experienced yesterday. Now, we only fear them when they come, but once they leave, we calm down because we have become used to it. Still, there is no help.” Another source said the b@ndits initially rounded up about 30 people, mostly women and children, but later released some, taking away eight victims due to limited space on their motorcycles. The abd¥cted victims include three men and five women, many of whom are believed to be members of the deputy governor’s family. During the att@ck, the g+nmen also looted a phone charging shop, making away with over 100 mobile phones, power banks, and about ₦40,000 in cash. “When they entered the charging point, the operator fled. They then took phones mostly smartphones and power banks being charged, along with cash,” a source said. Residents have called on the government, particularly the deputy governor, to urgently address the worsening insecurity in the area. “We are appealing to him to look into our condition. As our son and the deputy governor, it is pa+nful that we are being neglected despite being his relatives. We support him and do not wish him ill, but he has not assisted us in this difficult situation,” another resident said.
