Peter Murrell has been granted legal aid after being charged with embezzlement, and there are now concerns Scottish taxpayers could end up footing the bill because the SNP still haven’t repaid the £60,000 they owe him. Let that sink in. At a time when families are struggling with the cost of living and public services are under huge pressure, taxpayers could now be paying for the consequences of the SNP’s financial scandal. The public deserve answers about why this money still hasn’t been repaid, who knew what at the top of the SNP, and why ordinary Scots should be expected to pick up the tab for this mess.

Will be very interesting if those who donated money to the SNP having been promised it would be ring-fenced for independence campaigns, now launch a class civil action for recovery. They could argue that the Party had a fiduciary duty to safeguard the funds, which was breached.
