Earlier this year, we launched a product that nearly killed our business. Platter+ hit the Shopify App Store in Q1. On paper, it made perfect sense. Our core customers are already using the app, we might as well offer it to brands that don't need an entire storefront, but want the checkout functionality in the app. Expand the offering. More revenue streams. I convinced myself that because we'd figured out sales-led growth, we could just bolt on a product-led motion. Two engines, double the speed. Newsflash: that's not how it works. We split team attention between two completely different businesses. Built systems for customers who wanted opposite things. Burned cash on flows that served neither audience well. The math was brutal: trying to do two things meant we sucked at both. So we cut our losses. Platter+ became what it should have been from the start. An add-on for our core customers, not a standalone product. We doubled down on what we actually know how to do: building and optimizing storefronts through a sales-led model. The result? Q3 was our best quarter across every metric. Meetings booked, new logos, revenue, team morale, delivery quality and more. But I'm not posting to celebrate the win. I'm posting because the pain in Q2 taught me more than the success in Q3. Patience isn't passive. It's strategic. First-time founders are dangerous because we're ambitious enough to move fast but inexperienced enough to move in too many directions. We needed the discipline to master one motion before layering in another. Now we've got a growing roster of happy customers, new product features on the roadmap, and a team that knows exactly what game we're playing. Same ambition. Better aim. @getplatter

4 years ago today, we incorporated @getplatter. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined where this journey would take us. What started as 3 young, ambitious entrepreneurs with a simple goal of building a business that solved a problem for someone has turned into so much more: → 4 rebrands (Aquarius Brands → Framework Labs → Smart Theme → Platter) → A team of 20+ incredible people → 200+ customers, including household brands with products I use every day → Funding from an amazing group of investors And most importantly, the chance to live out my childhood dream. I’ve never been good with red tape or rules. The idea of creating my own luck and paving my own path was exciting… and terrifying. But here we are, 4 years later, still in the game. Remember, staying in the game is half the battle. To everyone who’s supported me or the Platter team: thank you. Truly. And most importantly, to my co-founders, @MichaelKeenehan and @KieranDerfus → Thank you for trusting in my crazy ideas and letting me play to my strengths to put our business in the best position to win. Here’s to the next 4 years. 🚀 PS: If you're a Shopify brand who needs help optimizing your website, we're really f***ing good at what we do :)

27% increase in conversion rate and 23% increase in AOV. Not a bad uplift after a @getplatter rebuild, hey? Those are the early numbers from our work with @tryboomboom. They make essential oil-based nasal sticks that refresh and energize. The brand blew up on TikTok and has grown into a high-velocity wellness company. When they started planning a full rebrand and doubling down on subscriptions, their Shopify store needed a big upgrade to keep up. We worked with the team to redesign and rebuild the entire site so it looked as good as the brand and was easy for them to manage without relying on devs. Some of the highlights: → Complete redesign from homepage to blog → Custom bundle builder powered by Shopify’s discount engine → Smarter product management for flavor variants, pack sizes, and product badges → Optimized mobile and desktop navigation for faster browsing → Buy with Prime integrated alongside Shopify checkout → Wholesale support with a dedicated landing page The result: → 27% lift in conversion rate → 23% lift in AOV → A store that’s faster, easier to manage, and built for growth Big thanks to John Pinto and the BoomBoom team for trusting us. The 20 Shopify conversion tactics that actually work (including the ones most stores overlook). Driving traffic is just the beginning. Turning visitors into buyers? That’s what really counts. 💰 Elliot Roazen, Director of Growth at @getplatter, breaks down what’s working right now. Here are 5 of our favorites: ⭐️Speed it up Sites that load in under 1 second convert 2.5x better than those that take 5. ⭐️Make it personal Tailored product recs and checkout discounts = more relevance, more purchases. ⭐️Clarify your product pages High-quality images, clear pricing, bullet points, and fit guides reduce friction. ⭐️Free shipping sells Display a free shipping threshold. Show a progress indicator. Reduce cart abandonment. ⭐️Keep the convo going Post-purchase emails, upsells, reviews, loyalty perks. Don’t just stop at “thank you.” And that’s just the start. The full list of 20 proven strategies is live on our blog. And it could be the difference between a bounce and an increase in sales. 🛍️ Get access to the full list here: bit.ly/4lbJcTp

Q2 in the books. Q3 is already in full swing. One of my promises to myself this year was to be more honest on here. Not just posting when things are picture-perfect at @getplatter, but sharing the journey as it really is. So here’s a transparent look at where we’re at as a team after wrapping up Q2. The good, the bad, and the ugly: The Good → We hit a record high average contract value (ACV) in a single quarter - a clear signal that we’re starting to move upmarket and that confidence in our offering is growing. → We launched 12 new storefronts (our biggest quarter by far). Check out some of the highlights: lnkd.in/dcFVArb4 → We’ve built a world-class GTM + content engine that's booking more prospect meetings than ever. We're always looking to collaborate with others in the space! Dm's are open. The Bad → Adoption of Platter+ as a standalone app was slower than expected coming out of launch. I think it’s due to a couple reasons: lack of feature parity, crowded vertical, and being naive in thinking brands will switch a solution that is so close to the money with minimal education and pursuit in the sales cycle. That said, we’re confident in the roadmap and believe the app plays into our broader product strategy very nicely. → As the team scaled we had a lot internal revisions that needed to be made around company communication, goal setting, performance tracking etc but I feel like the work we did in Q2 will set us up for success for years to come. The Ugly → We ran into some SEO issues when migrating from .co to .com. Our revenue numbers didn’t take a hit, but our organic traffic was essentially non-existent for several months. → We lost a few key team members and dealt with some churn, but it’s part of the game. Rolling with the punches is a non-negotiable in this world of startups. I’m very proud of this team. We're finding our identity and have a lot of momentum heading into this quarter!

Most brands I talk to in the context of @getplatter are looking to build Shopify stores. @J__Cub wanted to build the future of healthcare. We got connected a few years back, and he invited me to his place in LA for a whiteboard session to architect an ecommerce marketplace. What I quickly realized? That conversation wasn’t about building a store. It was about creating a pillar in a trillion-dollar vision they had for @superpower. If you know me, you know my identity sits at the intersection of health & wellness and consumer, so I was immediately hooked. But more than anything, it was clear that Jacob, @maxmarchione, and @KevinUnkrich had true founder-market fit. I was lucky enough to become an early investor, customer, and now a proud partner helping them reimagine how healthcare should work. Jacob wasn’t looking to build a standard Shopify storefront. They had something far more ambitious in mind: → A members-only marketplace → Embedded directly inside their app → Personalized based on onboarding data and bloodwork → Supporting over 300 products across 50+ brands → With fulfillment powered by affiliates, dropship, and subscriptions No playbook. No off-the-shelf template. This had to feel like part of the Superpower experience and not some bolted-on shopping tab. Here’s what we built together at Platter: → Shopify Multipass integration to gate the store to verified members → Embedded product recommendations inside the app → Custom CMS and metafields to power structured product data → Templates to handle different fulfillment types (dropship, affiliate, subscription) → Fast search and filters based on health goals, categories, and more The result? A fully gated, scalable store that looks and feels like the Superpower app. No headless stack. No unnecessary complexity. Just smart architecture and fast execution. As Jacob put it, “This has been huge for Superpower members. It makes these products more accessible, and it also opens up the ability for us to recommend them directly in the app.” FULL CASE STUDY HERE: platter.com/case-study/sup… Grateful to be able to play a small part in supporting this mission 🚀

Reserve your seat at the Board Meeting. On May 8th, @getplatter is teaming up with Dash.fi to host an offbeat gathering for ecommerce leaders who know how to compete. Board Meeting is a brand-only evening of strategy, cocktails, and connection in a luxury Tribeca setting. We’re bringing together 30–40 senior operators who share a few key things: sharp instincts, a love of good conversation, and a healthy appetite for friendly competition. Here’s what to expect: → A curated mix of board games (think strategic, not silly). → Craft cocktails and elevated catering. → No vendors. No pitches. Just real operators. → Space to connect, compete, and maybe even form an alliance or two. We called it Board Meeting for a reason. This night’s about showing up, thinking tactically, and forging meaningful connections with the people building the future of ecommerce. If you’re a brand leader and want in, request an invite below. Attendance is limited and subject to approval to keep things intimate. Where: Tribeca* When: May 8 | 6–9PM EST Link: lu.ma/nxjprb13 Let’s play. *Location to be revealed on registration.

For the last 9 months the @getplatter team has been working endlessly to launch our new and improved Shopify app, Platter+. And we finally did it a few weeks ago 🚀 [ICYMI: Platter+ is a Shopify app that helps brands optimize their checkout and post-purchase experience to increase AOV without the need for any costly developers.] What I'm really proud of, though: how we approached improving the app. Every founder who's launching new products will benefit from hearing this. Towards the end of Q4, Platter+ was still in the works but we our vision was getting dialed in. We had some beta users so we were able to get feedback and get rid of some kinks and separate the need-to-have features from the nice-to-haves. During this time, I had a few friends doing big releases and launches. I saw that as an opportunity to learn. I met up with them and asked every question I could think of. → What worked? → What didn't work? → If you could do it again, what would you do differently? → Etc. Immediately after the conversation, I took their learnings back to my team and iterated. With the help of our real customers and my founder friends' insights, we were able to avoid problems we could've run into and build a lot more confidence behind our product and the launch. IMO, you don't need to reinvent the wheel with product launches. If you can, tap into your founder network and expedite your learning curve through their wins and mistakes. By using their mistakes, you can take bits and craft the best version of your company. Worked really well for us.

A 21x return on investment and $32K in new revenue. The numbers from our latest case study with Bullstrap are looking sharp. They make premium leather accessories for Apple products and their Shopify Plus store was already performing well. But the team saw an opportunity to drive even more profitability without bloating their tech stack. That’s where Platter+ came in. We helped turn their checkout and post-purchase flows into serious revenue drivers. Here’s what we added: → In-checkout cross-sells for complementary products → Post-purchase offers to capture more value after the sale → A tiered promotion progress bar to nudge higher cart totals → FAQ and policy callouts to reduce hesitation and support tickets The outcome? → $32K in additional revenue → 21x return on investment → A faster, smarter, more profitable checkout experience with no dev work required And a quick shoutout from Claudio Conte, Founder of Bullstrap: "Been using Platter+ checkout extensions for a few months and we're seeing around a 20x return on investment every month. Support has been top notch too! Highly recommend the Platter+ team!" Appreciate the trust, Claudio. Fired up to keep pushing what’s possible with @getplatter+.
