@CarlosPero @zuul @KiernanWagner @cschemanske @gearhartpkmn your argument makes no sense at all. ascended heroes poke pads are $5. prereleases are a minimum $30. there’s no competitive advantage to be gained or financial advantage. you don’t have to justify TPCI’s decisions. it’s not your job.

@KiernanWagner you read what I write but you misunderstand. I’m not a judge, it’s not for me to make a ruling. I can think independently and realize that a handful of players competing in Houston who make the effort to find and attend and pay for a Prerelease the week before would have a competitive advantage over everyone else in Houston who could not do that. Having a rule that says no one can play with the new cards before a certain date is fair. It makes sense to me, and I’m writing about it for others who may not realize that viewpoint. They are then still free to disagree with it of course. That’s not my concern.

Carlos Pero: we must uphold the pokepad ruling or else the rulebook lacks sanctity Chris Schemanske: Yikes… no comment. Jake Gearhart: *staring at something behind you* we’ve been burying them wrong. All these years.

love pokopia but having real time timers in a single player story mode is fucking bullshit. time traveling unrepentantly.

@CoachDomTCG and ultimately the way TPCI has handled their game the least year is to blame. The ascended heroes release has been embarrassing.

@CoachDomTCG Don’t disagree on the price, but the drama is coming from the way judges, organizers, and others in power are handling it. The response has been atrocious.

Poke pad drama is silly Reminds me of when this card released and was $200 a pop and you needed 3 to compete lol serious players dropped the cash tho 🤷🏽‍♂️ if you're dropping cash to travel and compete you can find a few sheckles for the cards you need I promise

why has this poke pad drama just rotted everybody’s brain
Carlos Pero ᯅ@CarlosPero

@Aboredguy6 @AnthonyOuertani Hi, I understand that. That's not my point. In my opinion, a competitive advantage comes from being able to get the card ahead of general public release date.

@Yonepatchi There's better questions to make small talk. I hate this question even when I'm doing well. It feels like the opponent is fishing for info about what you're playing.

twice this year I’ve eaten too much in one sitting, sending me into 72 hours of severe gastrointestinal pain putting this here to remind myself to slow my roll, but also, if it happens again, to immediately take myself to urgent care because I cannot live like this lmao

@gettereec @NickCho It has nothing to do with comprehension. It has to do with the fact that regardless of of what action you are in your opponent can look at your discard pile. Whether you like it or not. It’s not up for debate really.

The most stressful moment for me during the Seattle #PokemonTCG regional this weekend was when I almost lost my patience because opponents kept reaching over to look at my discard pile while I'm actively in my turn. Ask, wait for a positive response, then reach over. Please. I was in a phase where I'm discarding cards and fetching them from discard and focused on my gameplay. I'm known to be an extremely patient person, but this was definitely testing my limits. After a few rounds of this I had to tell my opponent, "Please, not right now." He was clearly shook but we resolved it with mutual kindness.

@NickCho The discard pile is public knowledge and can be accessed at any time during the game regardless of who is making actions. Im sorry this happened to you but you can’t deny your opponent from asking or looking at your discard pile. As frustrating as this might be it is what it is

putting a deck together the night before you fly out for a tournament when you haven’t touched your cards in 6 months is kind of a pain in the ass!

ALWAYS ask to look through your opponent discard pile. Its etiquette we should all follow to not touch someone's things without asking. After the 1st time I usually just say "discard pile" and gesture to it and my opponent has always just handed it to me.
TBG | Callie Moore@CallieMooreTCG

@GetMausholded Im ngl i dont ask i usaully just tell my opponent im going to look through their discard (if its not spread out already ofc) you can't say no so in a real tournament match so it saves time if I just do it.
