There was a handsome jock in my high school who was super funny and nice to everyone. Even the super bitter goth kids admitted he was cool. Top of his class, too. Last semester, teacher asks him where he's applied to college. "Nowhere," he said. "Gonna work on my dad's farm

@CryptoTaxFixer I've written about this many, many times. It's so bad that Congress and the IRS should be more than ashamed of themselves. At a VERY MINIMUM it should be IMMEDIATELY adjusted for inflation. At the VERY MINIMUM...

🚨Another Problem with Capital Gains Tax: The $3,000 Loss Limitation If you have more losses than gains, the amount you’re allowed to write off is capped at $3,000. This is called the capital loss limitation. But here’s the catch: that $3,000 hasn’t been adjusted for inflation. At today’s prices, $3,000 barely covers a month’s rent. When that rule was introduced back in 1986, $3,000 was a significant amount. It could have covered several months of living expenses. And the intention behind it made sense, to give smaller investors some tax relief for taking the risk of investing and helping stimulate the economy. But fast forward to today, and inflation has eroded the value of that deduction. Depending on how you measure it, that $3,000 should now be closer to $30,000 to $50,000 in real terms. So why hasn’t it been updated? If you're losing money as an investor, you should be allowed to deduct those losses in the year they happen, not carry them forward in tiny chunks that no longer reflect the cost of living or the real size of your losses. What do you think? Isn’t it time we brought some fairness back to the tax code?

So I'm about to end my gym session and I see a girl repping out 25# weighted strict pull-ups. I walk up to her and tell her how impressive that is. Her face lights up, we're chatting, talking about fitness. I ask her number. "I have a boyfriend."

Honest question for fellow investors: I’m 33 with a pretty modest income, so for the last 9 months I’ve been focused heavily on high-income ETFs. Every dividend gets reinvested to keep the snowball growing. But lately I have been wondering… Do I keep riding the reliable income strategy, or start adding more growth ETFs for bigger long-term upside? What would you do in my position?

If we can't be taxed on unrealized gains, why the fuck are we being taxed on the new increased valuation of our home without selling it? THAT'S UNREALIZED GAINS!

One time I was at work and realized I didn’t have a pad. I asked my coworker if she had one. She handed me one, I thanked her, and went to the bathroom. A few seconds after putting it on, I felt something I had never experienced in my life. It felt like my vagina was taking deep breaths. There was a sudden cool, tingling sensation that had me standing in the stall questioning every life choice that led me to that moment. I marched back to my desk and asked my coworker, “What is wrong with your pads? Why does it feel like my vagina is breathing?” She looked horrified. Then she remembered that a.........

Good post. And i agree. So many young women are control freaks that don’t understand how to create a relationship with other people. It’s one of the main things i taught my own daughter. My mother in law and father in law watched all my babies be born except my emergency c-section. My dad and father in Law stayed up by my head and held my hands while my husband and all the women and sisters got to see the birth action😂 a party of 15-20 in your birthing room is fun😂 And strict rules for visiting in the first few months of life is even weirder. That truly is just a controlling narcissistic trait. I don’t really understand people that like their privacy or have rules for every event in their life. Chill out and relax. Enjoy your family both sides.

Ladies. I am telling you this right now. Your husband’s family matters when you have a baby. You can say they aren’t allowed in for delivery. You can ask for limited time visits. You can ask for your husband to entertain and introduce the baby if you want to stay in bed. BUT- asking his parents/grandparents to wait to meet them while you let your family in is cruel and selfish. EVEN IF they might annoy you, or his mom is an attention hog, your baby is just as much your husband’s. Your recovery needs matter, but alienating them is wrong.

What specifically could? Only the very early days breastfeeding when supply has yet to be properly established, latch is still dodgy etc are really not especially like the maintenance mode later on. Much easier to be discreet in the latter case, and while some couldn’t give a toss others don’t really want their in laws to see them sore and leaking away with their tits out.

@giancotti_m @22liv22 @Thenameisal92 Think you're reading a bit too much into the analogy, it's just another example of a bodily function that doesn't reflect badly on a person in any way but that most people would feel exposed if extended family members actually saw

@22liv22 @Thenameisal92 Someone posted for the world to see that they were upset when in-law saw when her milk came in. How is anyone going to think less of you because something human happened. You just told everyone about this thing that you were embarrassed that family saw.

@LizzieMarbach Why is it so hard to do or understand: you can tell them to make a quick visit to meet the baby, you don’t need to see them, the husband can bring the baby for them to meet him, stay a few minutes and then leave. Then reach out a few days later to see if it is ok to come again

The entire discourse around this post is very strange. No one should be purposely alienated. But a woman wanting to see her parents immediately after birth while simultaneously wanting to wait to see anyone else is not “alienating” anyone. That is just basic recovery from one of the hardest experiences of a woman’s life. Post birth is a VERY vulnerable time, emotionally and physically, for the majority of women. VERY. I’m sorry, but the needs & feelings of the mother & baby DO trump anyone else’s immediately after birth. The husband’s parents should understand that their daughter-in-law needs her mom at that time AND she needs some time before seeing anyone else without taking it personally or feeling jaded.
