If SpaceX IPO's at a $2 Trillion Valuation:
$ASTS/ $RKLB Comparables:
$ASTS - AST SpaceMobile is often valued as a "Telecom/SaaS" hybrid. If it were to trade at the same 85x P/S multiple as a $2T SpaceX, its market cap would likely need to double or triple once its full constellation (Block 2 satellites) is operational.
Implied Valuation: If the "Space IPO Fever" lifts all boats, analysts suggest AST could see a "valuation catch-up." If SpaceX is worth $2T, a "fully de-risked" ASTS (with 50+ satellites in orbit) could realistically be argued toward a $75B–$100B valuation (~$200–$380/share) as the only direct-to-cell competitor to Starlink.
$RKLB - Rocket Lab is currently valued as a "Space Systems" leader (70% of revenue is satellites/components, 30% is launch). It traditionally trades at a lower multiple than SpaceX because it lacks a high-margin consumer subscription service like Starlink.
Implied Valuation: If SpaceX holds a $2T valuation, $RKLB at $39B represents only 1.9% of SpaceX's value. Many institutional bulls (like Needham) argue that a fair "comparable" for $RKLB would be 5%–8% of SpaceX’s value. This would imply a market cap of $100B–$160B (~$250–$400/share) once Neutron is flying regularly.
