For all of the problems Democrats have, it's the Republicans who have a president at 39% approval. The discussion in my article is around how many votes Dems leave on the table, not whether they can win again. (The likeliest 2028 R nominee—Vance—also has really ugly numbers)

What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over, doesn’t fight, and takes everything sitting down. And what they’re mad at right now is that we are here in a new day. And we have been asking the Democratic Party to stand up and fight, and now they did—and now the Republican Party doesn’t like the fact that they are fighting against someone who actually will stand up for the American people. So if Republicans decide that they would like to revisit a ban on partisan gerrymandering, I welcome them. We have the bill right here to end this all today. But they don’t want to, because they like pursuing and continuing to enact an unfair electoral landscape. And so we have an obligation to defend ourselves.

This is pretty amazing Democrats leaned so heavily on Fairfax to drive the entire referendum, but Republicans actually drove enough turnout to win 3 of the new districts, got “The Lobster” within 0.3, and 2 others blue districts within 5.

To my eye, Dems have definitively taken the lead in the mid-decade redistricting battle for this cycle. 🔵 Ds will likely gain 8-10 seats 🔴 Rs will likely gain 4-8 seats And it seems like an awfully big risk for FL to further redraw its map given the swings we’re seeing in special elections.

That’s a great question and I don’t mind you asking at all. And you’re welcome to disagree with me. I will state my position this way: Democrats coming back to power in America is more dangerous than Iran having a nuclear weapon. That’s my position.
