@TheKevinDalton Yet my wife got an expensive ticket for rolling a stop sign in a quiet residential LA neighborhood. Guess that’s a lot easier than stopping these guys.

Absolute chaos through downtown Los Angeles as hundreds of felonious hooligans takeover the 110 freeway for donuts and a fireworks show. It’s almost as if they are completely ignoring Karen Bass’ zero tolerance declaration. This post brought to you by Gavin Newsom, reminding you that crime is down in California.

@jeff_weinstein @thomasbsauer - Handle state registration and track yearly deadlines in addition to Delaware - Look into states other than Delaware - stripe projects-like access to providers of liability, cyber, E&O insurance

@thomasbsauer Kind words. Magic wand, what should Stripe solve for founders _after_ incorporation? Big or small ideas welcome.

Yes. The job of “designer” is going to sort out similarly to product managers and engineers: just as we won’t need devs who drag out moving a button for a week, or PMs who simply type up tickets, we won’t need hordes of Figma jockeys who take a month to design a sidebar and then call it a design system. This will draw a clear line from equating design with “make it black” to something more like service designers — what is needed to make the entire experience work viscerally for a customer, end to end, even if that customer is an agent. The designers who can do this well will sort themselves above that line. The pixels and buttons WILL be done by the robots. The clankers WILL write most of the tickets to be worked on by the other clankers, not humans. This is happening. It’s a great opportunity for designers to define themselves.

The obvious path for designers in the AI age is to move closer to code. But the more valuable path may be upstream: closer to the customer, the business, and the problem. If everyone can prompt agents to code, the scarce skill becomes knowing why, what, and how to build.

Many people do not seem to want data centres built near them, despite the fact that they don't cause that much traffic and often generate a lot of local tax revenue. I suspect it's partly because they're ugly! My proposal:

Today, Christopher, Deyanna, and Paige Ostrouchko were indicted by a grand jury for allegedly assaulting journalist and Turning Point USA contributor Savannah Hernandez, while she was lawfully reporting on anti-ICE protests outside a federal building in St. Paul. Hernandez was allegedly surrounded, physically assaulted, and shoved to the ground — simply because she was identified by the defendants as a conservative journalist. That is NOT “peaceful protest.” These deplorable actions as charged in the indictment will not be tolerated in America, and this Department of Justice will always punish unhinged acts of political violence.

Uh, I trade on it all the time in the US. Get a VPN for ~$5/mo. Set your location to Mexico. I use Mullvad(no I don't work or get money from them) If you haven't traded on it, make sure to read each market's win/loss rules. Some of them aren't exactly like you'd expect based on the title.

WOW. Mitchell Hashimoto voting with his feet: Ghostty is leaving GitHub. "I can't code with GitHub anymore. I'm sorry. After 18 years, I've got to go. I'd love to come back one day, but this will have to be predicated on real results and improvements, not words and promises."
Mitchell Hashimoto@mitchellh

Ghostty is leaving GitHub. I'm GitHub user 1299, joined Feb 2008. I've visited GitHub almost every single day for over 18 years. It's never been a question for me where I'd put my projects: always GitHub. I'm super sad to say this, but its time to go. mitchellh.com/writing/ghostt…

This is an extremely important point. And it illustrates how so-called “enterprise SaaS” can be replaced in many use cases. Turn the one big problem into many small, tractable, independently evolvable small problems.
Mitchell Hashimoto@mitchellh

@stolinski Yes. But also if you self host you don’t have to worry about web scale. Services aren’t hard to keep up if you have 1 user (private, you) or 500 (a popular but not huge community). Even at Ghostty scale a self hosted forge can run on a single local DB.

We just sued Cloudera for discriminating against U.S. workers in favor of foreign visa holders for high-paying tech jobs. This is a violation of the Immigration & Nationality Act, & @CivilRights will not hesitate to sue employers for discriminating against U.S. workers! You are on notice! justice.gov/opa/pr/civil-r…
