Five months ago, I argued against the President's $4 trillion tariffs at the Supreme Court. In 237 years, the Court had never struck down a sitting President's signature initiative. Legal scholars said it was impossible. Some of my own colleagues said it was impossible. We won. 6-3. But the real story isn't what happened in that courtroom. It's what happened in the months before. And its the subject of my TED talk, coming out tomorrow. I had the best legal team in the nation, especially Colleen Roh Sinzdak, the most outstanding legal strategist I know. Huge thanks, too, go to the Liberty Justice Center (and in particular its fearless and hyper-intelligent leader Sara Albrecht), who organized the client small businesses, as well as to the brave small businesses themselves. I also had four teachers preparing me. A mindset coach who'd worked with Andre Agassi. An improv coach who taught me that "Yes, and" works in Supreme Court arguments the same way it works everywhere else. A meditation coach who taught me stillness. And Harvey. Harvey predicted many of the questions the Justices asked — sometimes almost word for word. Brilliant. Tireless. Occasionally insufferable. Here's the catch: Harvey isn't a person. Harvey is a bespoke AI I built over the last year with a legal AI company, trained on every question every Justice has asked in oral argument for 25 years, and everything they've ever written. Tomorrow, TED releases my talk about what really happened — and what I learned standing at that podium. AI can predict. AI can analyze. What AI cannot do is the one thing that actually won the argument. Connect. Read the room. Hear not just a Justice's words, but her worry — and answer the worry. That is the irreducibly human skill. Find yours. Go deeper. In this age of AI, that's where your edge lives. The talk goes live Thursday, May 7 at 11am ET: go.ted.com/nealkumarkatyal What's the irreducibly human skill in your work — the thing AI can't touch?

@MarkBrooksArt @GeanineHudson They need to be transparent and set the right expectations from the beginning. If we get someone competent who starts course correction in the first 4 years without unnecessary distractions, hopefully people will be supportive.

Here’s the thing. We are going to HATE the next democratic president. Because they’re going to have to spend 4 years fixing our incredibly broken govt while figuring out how to restore our economy while mending nearly all our international relationships. All while addressing a country that’s basically insolvent. We got pilfered by the current administration so there’s entire systems that got wiped out while contractors and corporations got bloated off our tax dollars via special favors for and from Trump. This is going to mean higher taxes across the board and massive sacrifices just to get us back to neutral. Trump stole and gave away billions while wrecking every institution he could get his hands on. It’s going to hurt to fix them all and regain what we lost. This will all be while a restored justice dept prosecutes dozens of people in the Trump administration for massive corruption. It’s going to get very messy. I honestly don’t know how they’ll be able to do it and be able to win a second term. The majority of the country won’t understand why it’s necessary for their/our future.

President Donald Trump has announced "many countries...will be sending war ships" to aid U.S. Navy efforts to keep the Strait of Hormuz open claiming that 100% of Iran's military capability has been destroyed. France and the United Kingdom have announced naval deployments to the region, but none have acknowledged a mission to support the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

This is not fake, people. It's just pathetic. "John Barron" called into C-SPAN Friday morning to complain about the Supreme Court's tariff ruling, and that Chuck Schumer can't cook a cheeseburger. Anchor cuts him off and calls him by his real name.

I’m an American. 🇺🇸 we are very angry at our president. We are very angry at our senate. We are very angry at republicans. We are very very angry. We are protesting. We are using our voices. There will be consequences. But you’re right there is a percentage that has zero and I mean zero clue what’s happening. And even when you explain it they refuse to listen. It’s going to be a harsh wake up call.

I honestly believe that the average United States Citizen has no idea just how much damage is being done to the reputation of the United States, how much damage is being done to the future of international relations and trade. What America is doing to its allies is disgusting.

Can you please help me by sharing this via text, SMS or WhatsApp? Thank you. Over the last few months, I’ve had quiet conversations with senior tech leaders navigating layoffs, or preparing for them. I have many friends at $AMZN @amazon @awscloud @Microsoft @Google and @Meta , who have been let go. This field guide is battle tested by them. The market hasn’t disappeared. But the buyer has changed. This short document captures the pattern I keep seeing. It’s meant to be read quietly and shared privately. Please DM me if you want the guide. And if you can save this or share it via email, text or WhatsApp

Dems have a narrow window of time to resurrect this kind of 2011 anti-waste/fraud/corruption energy or internet-powered citizens are going to do it for them.

We didn't "lose". These were hard Democrat areas, and Dems were expected to win. We certainly didn't get "our ass handed to us". Were Republicans supposed to vote for Cuomo? Was the Trump base supposed to rally around Winsome Earle-Sears, who spent most of her career being anti-Trump? The only race that was "thought to be" winnable was NJ, even though it's hard core left. The left wasn't going to let anyone win but the left.

To give you guys an idea of how bad tonight is, Bobby Orrock is likely to lose his seat. Virginians understand how much of a bloodbath this is that we're talking about Orrock's seat as likely Dem pickup now. He's been in office since 1990 and won re-election by over 10 points two years ago.

The National Democratic Redistricting Committee just dropped $300,000 into Virginia — $150,000 to Abigail Spanberger’s campaign and another $150,000 to the House Democratic Caucus — and suddenly, the House of Delegates is rushing into a special session on Monday to kill Virginia’s bipartisan redistricting commission. This is exactly what people hate about politics. The same Washington-based group that was supposed to fight “partisan gerrymandering” is now bankrolling the effort to take redistricting power away from voters and give it back to politicians. Virginians voted to make redistricting fair and neutral. Now the Democrats want to undo that vote — right after their D.C. donors cut them a check. We deserve better than a bought-and-paid-for map.

Looks like we’re going to have to start back up the Anti-Gerrymandering movement in Virginia. I’m hearing that our non-partisan Redistricting Commission, enshrined in our state constitution, is going to be under attack. We must protect our norms and institutions! Thankfully there were many Democrats who supported our effort to end gerrymandering in Virginia, so this will be a great opportunity for bipartisanship!
