My bill, the Cashless Bail Reporting Act, just passed the House. Across the country, soft-on-crime states and cities are allowing dangerous offenders back onto the streets on little more than a promise to reappear in court. This bill gives Americans the transparency they deserve and helps hold local leaders accountable for the policies they put in place.

My bill, the Keeping Violent Offenders Off Our Streets Act, combats radical bail policies by simply subjecting bail bonds to insurance fraud laws. For years, left-wing groups have exploited loopholes in our bail system at the expense of public safety. Nobody wants violent criminals recklessly released back into neighborhoods across the country. This legislation ends the madness.

This #NationalPoliceWeek, @RepKnott took to the House floor to honor the law enforcement officers lost in the line of duty and urge support for their vital public safety mission: “Every day, law enforcement officers across this country are facing increased threats to their safety and wellbeing. We know that law enforcement officers answer every call for help, regardless of who the person is, what they believe, and regardless of the threat to their own lives. Tragically, many of those brave men and women who answer the call of duty do not return home.”

This National Police Week, we were grateful to bring together Members of Congress and law enforcement groups to hear how the @HouseGOP can continue to support police forces across America. Our message to our men and women in blue is the same this week and always: THANK YOU.
