What would the Holy Spirit say? Does it not also say whoever should harm a child would be better off drowning themself 1st?

The Gospel is not God hatefully saying, ‘Turn to Me or I’ll send you to hell.’ The Gospel is God’s mercy and grace saying, ‘You’re already on your way to hell, turn to Me, and I will save you.’

@dataonbothsides @markaschryses @TheresaArueyin1 He's all-loving, so he cares about those in torment. He's also omnipotent, so he has the power to stop it. He's omniscient so he could come up with a system that punishes sin while still allowing for absolution.

@dataonbothsides @markaschryses @TheresaArueyin1 Sure, but if a judge sentenced someone to death by torture for jaywalking, one would understandably think them to be unbelievably harsh and cruel. That's the problem. The punishment is unimaginably cruel for the relatively minor crime.

@markaschryses @TheresaArueyin1 Also in Christianity we are basing things on the fact that if God exists he is 100% loving, holy, perfect but also just as justice is part of those three. So he would be deserving in every way without any exception not a rough dictator making people bow down despite his flaws.

My issue is he's supposed to be loving, merciful, and omnipotent, and yet is incapable of creating an alternative to heaven other than torment.

I support your sentiment, but can we please stop using LGBTQ+ when we are specifically talking about same-sex couples and families headed by those couples. Not all gay people identify with the LGBTQ+ community and want nothing to do with it. It's not an inclusive term, in fact it's quite EXCLUSIVE because it leaves out a whole swath of gay people, the very people who started the movement in the first place. And don't come at me with how transgender people were such a part of the early gay rights movement. They weren't.

Have I seen atheists going door to door trying to spread their religion? No I can't say that I have. Instead they go to the government and get their religion to be taught in school so they can indoctrinate your children and then they sue any other religions trying to do the same thing. That's totally not force.
