@MichaelAArouet I know this isn't the answer, but this could very well be a little house in a Grünanlage in Berlin staring at one of the god ugly towers erected close to Oberbaumbrücke 😂

Productivity doesn’t rise because workers suddenly “work harder.” It rises because capital investment improves tools, processes, and technology. If you work in a pizza shop and the owner buys a better oven that cooks twice as many pizzas per hour, the oven is what raised productivity. The owner paid for it, maintained it, and took the risk. You’re still being paid for your labor, not for owning the oven. Wages are tied to the market value of labor, not to total output. Output is shared among: • wages • capital costs • reinvestment • risk and losses If workers automatically received the full gains of productivity increases, no one would invest in capital in the first place. And without capital, productivity collapses. Marxists look at the result and erase the cause. They see higher output and pretend it came from labor alone. It’s entitlement with a graph.

@texasgermanbre A better reason to learn it is simply to productively exist in German society. Your kid will be fine. Keep speaking English to them and give them the gift of multilingualism.

I need to learn German quickly in the next year because if I don’t, I’m gonna end up in a situation where our future child is gonna start talking in German fluently when I can’t. And that’s a risk.

@yourdress1 @texasgermanbre This is the standard method for bilingualism; one parent speaks one language, the other speaks the other language. The parent who spends most time with the child listen should speak to them in the language least spoken in the region where you live.

Question for parents, if you speak fluent English as the mother (me) and my soon husband speaks German and English. How can I make sure our baby speaks German and English? Since we will be raising our children in Germany. (Marcel is German, his family German).

@texasgermanbre Let whoever is the mother tongue speaker of said language speak exclusively in said language to the child. There is NO point in having someone teach them second language English. German they will get from the society Kita, Grundschule, Spielplatz) anyway.

@KoketsoResane @WalkerAmerica The difference is that a government is held accountable, so you SEE their reckless spending. Trust me - it's there in the private sector too.

@KoketsoResane @WalkerAmerica Not really, though. Reckless spending is more a function of size. I have seen many large corporates burning money on the most pointless nonsense imaginable. A lean startup won't burn cash for shits and giggles. But a corporation? They'll easily burn millions.

No Ash, we don’t need more expensive resorts built on KZN’s coastlines, privatising access to the beach. DBN certainly does NOT need to compete with CPT on ridiculously expensive property that pushes locals out. Not everything needs to be “developed”. Developers must be stopped😭
Ash Müller@Askash

You thought Club Med was a massive project for the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, but have you heard about the R50 billion city being developed?!😱 Zimbali, as we know it, is about to transform into a luxurious city on the coast. Developed by IFA Hotels & Resorts (IFAHR), they will now build the Zimbali Marina and The Zimbali Country Estate with over 1000 residential units, located across the N2 from Zimbali Lakes. Over the past two decades, R30 billion has already been invested in Zimbali Coastal Resort and Zimbali Lakes Resort (under construction). Zimbali Lakes includes the Ernie Els Signature Course, which opened in April 2025. The above, paired with the newest phases (Zimbali Marina and Zimbali Country Estate), brings this project’s total development cost to R50 billion. It’s all giving Dubai vibes, but I am here for it. It’s great to see the North magnetising so much future investment. I am hoping that this actually ends up happening… And that Club Med will be a catalyst for more resorts to set up shop in this area as well. There are many neighbouring land parcels here that are undeveloped and brimming with potential. The weather here is excellent year-round, and Cape Town has become expensive. The Mother City could do with some coastal competition in the real estate market. The Zimbali Marina project will boost tourism and fishing/commercial activities, while providing world-class residential units. The Zimbali Country Estate will launch next year. What do you think of this Marina development for KZN?

Ideology sucks. It numbs the brain. Some of our leaders are hellbent on working against SA’s interests because of ideology. We don’t care whether the cat is black or white as long as it catches mice. It is about economic growth. It is about jobs. It is about dignity. #ProudlySA

This is capitalism. She owns her business and decides what to pay herself and her employees - including what benefits to apply and to whom. No matter what she says and how much they “share profits”, only her and the company’s directors are held accountable should anything “bad” happen. Consider: If there’s 100 employees in the business including herself, I highly doubt each employee owns a 1% share of the company by virtue of being an employee in the company. If I’m wrong, I’ll take the L. If I’m right - you’re more gullible than I ever thought you were.

Here’s an actual socialist business. How long before the capitalist bootlickers rename and sanitise it as “communal capitalism”, “conscious capitalism” or “teamwork capitalism”? Anything but socialism.

@KoketsoResane It's capitalism because they employ machinery, money and other technologies to produce a surplus. It's socialist (or perhaps more aptly named just democratic) because both capital and labour has a say in how capital and said surplus is deployed. So you're both right.

@KoketsoResane E.g. can workers vote on what to build and sell? On where to invest? On how to hire? On what to buy? Or is this for a select few? What are the social implications of this? Etc. Pointing to idiots claiming Sweden is communist does little to have this much needed conversation.

@KoketsoResane The question we should ask isn't "should South Africa be capitalist or communist". That's not a sensible question. The better question is how do we incentivize a system in which more people have ownership of decisions affecting capital.
