Brutally honest, not going to tolerate stupidity when I see one. Not everything I have retweeted I agree with but it could be important to know.

@davepl1968 Mercedes in early 2000s had quite a few of their top of the line cars equipped with hydraulic suspension. AMG versions of W220 S-klasse, CL and SL coupes and S600 V12 had hydraulic suspension. These cars dont even have a stabilizer because suspension is fully computer controlled.

@zerohedge Now data center in space make sense.
In Orbit, In moon, in asteroid, in mars or further...
If we dont do it, AI wont be safe from humans

@FinancialPhys @zerohedge No. Except that they are built using the money from debt that you are supposed to pay. And they will build another one exactly the same way.

- Meet James Gosling
- Creator of Java
- Built his first computer from scratch as a teenager
- Loved math, science, and tinkering with electronics
- Preferred experimenting on his own rather than traditional classroom learning
- joined Sun Microsystems and noticed a major problem
- Programming languages were complex, unsafe, and hardware-dependent
- Code couldn’t run easily across different machines
- Many projects failed due to system incompatibility
- got Frustrated with these limitations
- Created a new language called “Oak”
- They wanted simple, catchy, and energetic name
- The team was drinking coffee during brainstorming ☕
- so Later they renamed it to Java
- he wrote the original Java compiler and virtual machine himself
- designed it to be Simple, Secure, Platform-independent
- it became one of the most influential programming languages in history
- Widely used in: Web applications, Android apps, Enterprise systems, Banking software
- Adopted by millions of developers worldwide
- earned the nickname as “Father of Java”
- literally changed how software is built across the world.
Absolute legend.

@pmarca These models have ZERO intelligence. They are task machines. Amazing task machines, but they have no underlying concept of what they're actually doing in any broader sense. That's why AI images have so many weird artifacts. The model has no idea what it's making

@greg16676935420 @netanyahu Because AI is so good that it cant even draw a US flag properly. And that shit is going to replace us 😂😂😂
English

@netanyahu Why does the United States flag only have 43 1/2 stars

@stikves @davepl1968 Do you actually read? Or it is AI that does reading for you 😂
Yes, this technology is not very useful at all if your aim is anything better than a slop.
English

@got2be4real @davepl1968 Have you actually used Claude in production?
It definitely needs debugging, otherwise it is not very useful at all
English

I don't debug AI slop.
I have a crisp and extensive set of unit tests that I use to define "it works". If the code passes those tests, it's a black box that does what I need.
Debugging thousands of lines of AI code takes longer than it would to write it in the first place! It's not practical.
Stone Tao@Stone_Tao
genuine question. how do you debug code and ensure good quality when coding models spit out 1000s of lines i still cannot feel comfortable not understanding what every generated line does, reducing the productivity gains coding models should be giving me

Q: “Which foreign country do you consider to be our greatest adversary?”
Kamala Harris: “IRAN.
Iran has American blood on their hands.
We need to ensure that Iran never achieves the ability to be a nuclear power.
That is one of my HIGHEST PRIORITIES.”
Q: “So if you have proof that Iran is building a nuclear weapon, would you take military action?”
K: “I’m not going to talk about hypotheticals at this moment.”
ADAM@AdameMedia
Your reminder that Kamala Harris would have invaded Iran too and it really doesn’t matter who you vote for.

@stikves @davepl1968 There should be no need to debug AI code if we are serious about this technology. Or we should not call it AI.
If generating code which is considered the basic cornerstone of AI can not be done reliably then it is junk.
The only thing you should debug are your AI promps.
English

@davepl1968 AI should debug AI code.
And if it is sloppy, it usually goes into an hour long loop where it cannot exit. (Or if you forgot to give it guardrails, it just removes all the tests, and says "I'm done")
Any atomic unit of contribution should be self consistent and passing tests.

@davepl1968 This is the biggest hurdle I have had with using ad in tech. If I want it done a specific way it’s easier to just do it.
English
@SimardPete @davepl1968 good news for guys planning attacks like LiteLLM
English

@davepl1968 nobody reads their npm packages' source either. if tests define the contract and the code fulfills it, who cares what's inside. the skill shifts from writing code to writing good specs.
English
@davepl1968 @BeatGreatFilter There will be people ready to pay an extra premium for NOT having that chance at all.
English

@BeatGreatFilter Yup. I write the spec for the code, and I write the spec for the tests. Of course there IS the chance that the tests are not actually correct, and then you're hooped.
