@AIDRIVR Anyone on HW3 who bought FSD outright deserves to have a lifetime one time FSD transfer to their next Tesla. I believe Tesla will ultimately do this after the March promotion expires.

after this, I will shut up. just please: put yourself in the shoes of a customer that: - bought Model S/X in 2022/2023 (~$140k for a Plaid), or even 3/Y at ~$60-75k - paid an additional $15k for FSD (12 ½ years worth of subscription at current pricing) - doesn't have access to latest FSD versions because HW3 (missed cutoff point by a few months) - can't justify upgrading to HW4 because they’re deeply underwater on their current car - see $15k FSD purchase option drop by nearly half, even though Tesla said it was only going to get more expensive - see a great deal on a Cybertruck with "Free FSD Transfer for loyal customers!" advertised right below the Order button. press "Order." - aren’t chronically online, so miss Tesla quietly changing the terms retroactively - show up (or are about to show up) for delivery in June only to be told “sorry, we’re not honoring that” - then went online to figure out what happened… and got hit with “stop wanting things for free!” these customers exist, and will never buy another Tesla again.

They told us Democrats would turn America into a show-your-papers society. They told us Democrats would strip away the Second Amendment. They told us Democrats would jail us for what we say. They told us Democrats would drag us into more foreign wars. They told us Democrats would cover up a child sex trafficking ring. And then Republicans took power and decided to do all of it themselves.

I truly implore folks not to argue with “people” on this app about important events. You’re going to drown in a sea of bots, paid foreign accounts cosplaying as Americans, and truly the worst of our citizenry. Talk to real human beings in real life. You’ll feel better.

This is the cleanest path to retiring the controversial “Autopilot” name. FSD Supervised is far more intuitive and reassuring to the average driver. Offering a highway only FSD (Supervised) tier with max speed control at $15/month creates a natural on-ramp, one that lets Tesla later upsell customers to higher tiers without having to re-explain the entire FSD feature set from scratch.

There's no way Tesla's removing Autopilot and not putting something in its place. How much you wanna bet Tesla will make an announcement early next week on a newly added feature? I'm guessing it'll be 'Autosteer Basic' included and tiered subscription models.

@JonBbC_TechGeek I disagree. I know people who are content with autopilot, but if they did not have it would more then likely go to FSD. I hope I am wrong, but seems they are really pushing the subscriptions

I had missed this, but one of the agents literally applauds as his colleague executes the disarmed man. These are not public servants, they see themselves as violently pitted against the public.

@elonmusk Can you explain how this doesn't make people just want to buy a car from someone else instead, since they're cheaper and can stay in a lane without a subscription?

Wait…. So if my car with FSD gets totaled, I will basically just lose the $10,000 FSD purchase. Confused by this.

This is dangerous and woefully misguided. America is not Denmark—for one, Denmark has universal health care.   RFK Jr. is doing everything possible to push his conspiracy-driven anti-vax agenda and it’s your kids and families who will suffer.

AI5 Is the Platform Chip Tesla is nearing tape-out of its AI5 inference chip— meaning the design is being finalized and sent to the fab for production. AI5 is expected to reach volume availability in early 2027, with initial silicon (engineering samples, early builds, etc.) arriving in 2026. Tesla introduced HW4 (AI4) in January 2023. AI5 follows roughly four years later. However, Elon has hinted that AI6 and AI7 will move to an annual cadence, similar to how Apple iterates on its A-series processors. That may sound ambitious, but it’s not unrealistic. AI5 isn’t just a straightforward evolution of AI4; it’s effectively the first chip in a new architectural family. It carries substantially more Tesla-designed IP and is purpose-built for Tesla’s long-term inference roadmap across FSD, Optimus, and data-center workloads. In other words, AI5 is a re-baseline for everything that follows. AI5 is a full SoC, built around three major blocks: its neural cores (the heart of the design), its ARM CPU cores, and integrated memory. It’s also optimized for manufacturability (a half-reticle design) and exceptional performance per watt. While it draws more power than AI4 (roughly 200–250W) it delivers around an order of magnitude more throughput. Tesla stripped away anything that didn’t directly serve the inference stack; for instance, AI4’s ISP (image signal processor) is gone. With AI5, Tesla is locking in the platform that will carry it through the next phase of inference needs— and that’s exactly why rapid follow-ons are expected.
