You need to display hdr content. Bring up Photos or Dolby videos taken by a modern iPhone, or a movie on Apple TV+. Night and day, not even close. Also if you have an M4 or higher compare the scrolling because the XDR does 120htz. Waaaaay smoother. But if you have an older Mac you won’t see this.

I got it today (!!) and it’s been pretty buggy. Lots of random errors during signup, and when I backed out of sending myself the card using the back button at the shipping address screen, it said “your card is on its way”, ha. Also didn’t show automatically when accessed X via web. That said, $25 free and 6% interest is worth the hassle. I’m sure they’ll iron it out @XMoney

The only email I've received about X money is when someone requested money. I didn't even get an email with the invite.

NEWS: Grok is now live inside Microsoft Excel. xAI has released Grok for Excel, a Microsoft 365 add-in that runs on Grok 4.5, the model it launched on July 8. It works from a panel inside the spreadsheet with no exporting or copying tables out. You can ask questions in plain English, write formulas, run scenarios and build financial models. Grok reads only the cell ranges you pick and points back to the cells its answers came from. The add-in is free to add from the Microsoft Marketplace, and xAI shipped the same for Word and PowerPoint. That puts Grok inside Microsoft's own Office apps, going up against Microsoft 365 Copilot. Tesla in a new Giga Berlin report filed in recent weeks: "For the 2026 financial year, the company forecasts a significant increase in production volume compared with the previous year and assumes a corresponding increase in capacity utilization; Currently, more than 30 markets are supplied from Giga Berlin. It is planned to open up further markets in the future. The decision was made to make further investments in the production capacity of battery cell manufacturing in order to realize a capacity of up to 8 GWh per year (this has since been raised to 18 GWh). For this purpose, the company will make further investments in the three-digit million range, bringing the total investment volume for cell manufacturing to nearly $1.4 billion USD," according to Giga Berlin's Management Report for Fiscal Year 2025 filed on June 28, 2026. A lot of this was known, as Tesla recently announced that it will increase production output at its Giga Berlin factory by another 20% to 7,500 vehicles per week starting in October of 2026. This production increase is on top of the 20% production output increase previously announced a few months ago. All this will result in 3,500 additional jobs created. Still, good to hear again. Tesla had its best ever Q2 in 2026 for both vehicle sales and energy deployments. Will be interesting to see what happens in Q3 and Q4!

@DoctorJack16 Have him watch Kyle’s new video on OutofSpec channel. Honestly I think it’s worth the 10k. The rear cubby storage is also great to have. When they were $20k apart it was an easier decision.

I am having a hard time advising a buddy of mine with 2 small kids who is trying to decide on whether to get the Standard Cybertruck or the Premium. It’s a $10K difference and it seems that the big questions to ask are whether air suspension is needed, the back monitor, cloth vs leather, 18” vs 20” standard wheels, rear heated seats, premium sound, and some other more minor things. I would welcome some feedback on whether $10K justifies the above add-ons. Also, he does not plan on taking off road often. Both vehicles have the same range and acceleration. Any thoughts to pass on are welcomed. Thank you.

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation today creating a new state point-of-sale rebate that gives all first-time EV buyers $3,500 off a new electric vehicle. • $3,500 off new EVs with an MSRP up to $50,000 • $1,750 off used EVs sold for up to $25,000 • The rebate is open to any Californian buying their first ZEV, regardless of their income level. If a ZEV automaker is headquartered in California as of Jan 1, 2026, there are no price limits. The rebate initiative carries a total budget of $270 million, with funding coming from both the state budget and automakers.
