After driving FSD 2026.2.9.10 for a few days, I can say it’s a solid build. It wasn’t the massive leap we were all hoping for with v14.3, but after listening to Elon on the earnings call, it’s clear the bar has moved to v15. If Robotaxi needs v15 for unsupervised capability at scale, that’s where the real secret sauce will show up. That said, we did see a pretty rough first version of the new disengagement feedback form. Credit to @Tesla_AI — they listened, iterated fast, and made it much better before pushing it wide. That kind of quick response is impressive. I know some people get frustrated seeing early adopters like us test these versions and point out issues. But the truth is, the team actually wants this feedback. They’ve asked for it directly. This is part of the process. We’re all early adopters here. If you’re reading posts from those of us on the bleeding edge, you’re in a very small group helping shape the future. FSD is a true game changer. It’s going to save thousands of lives every year and give all of us peace of mind knowing our families are safer. Let’s keep spreading the word.

TL;DR 🚨 Tesla's zero marginal cost fastener fix in a nutshell 🛠️
💥 Traditional interior trim fasteners frequently ruin themselves when pushed into a car's metal frame at a crooked angle, causing a sharp impact that prematurely locks the mechanism and wastes millions in factory downtime.
🛡️ To solve this, Tesla engineered a tiny deflection shield by adding a flared "snap" to the very bottom of the fastener's inner pin, absorbing the impact and protecting the vulnerable outer locking sleeve.
🧲 This sloped, funnel-like shield actively catches the raw metal edge and forces the entire fastener to slide straight into perfect alignment.
☂️ Because the shield is wider than the outer sleeve, it is designed to be highly flexible, squeezing inward to slide through the narrow opening during factory assembly before popping back out to its full protective width.
📳 Once properly seated, a built-in elastic tab delivers a distinct physical snap, giving human hands and automated robot grippers instant tactile confirmation of a successful fit.
⚙️ Instead of relying on rigid, pre-set notches to pull the panels together, the fastener uses a continuous helical spiral thread, allowing for infinite tension adjustments to close panel gaps flawlessly.
🧩 The top of the pin uses a modular two-piece head that securely sandwiches the interior trim while spreading out the clamping pressure to prevent any cosmetic damage.
📐 The exact angles of the deflection shield can be easily tuned in the injection mold, creating customized hardware variations for heavy acoustic panels or lightweight plastics.
🤖 By eliminating the assembly line failure rate without adding a single cent to the bill of materials, this self-guiding hardware clears the path for Optimus robots to build fully automated vehicle interiors without jamming or breaking parts.
