@eaglebuildz @dreamsofcode_io Cold take: there’s no reason bun needs to move too fast. It’s a platform. Fast moving things should be *on top* of it. Case in point bad engineering led them to crash all the time with zig. They could’ve slowed down and fixed the zig code base

@boomer_btc @patchw1se @NEEDcreations @BTC_JEDI21 @grok Yes but I imagine it would reach equilibrium. I think there will always be some inertia in capital+hardware allocation even in a Star Trek economy, specially if we’re still mining with asic-like compute ( highly specific, nothing useful to hop to and back )

My basic assumption is that Bitcoin is that the base settlement layer for the global economy. If not, Bitcoin probably doesn't exist, or at least isn't relevant. If so, then block space control will be massively important, even at the nation-state level. This would cause an ever increasing motivation for large organizations to rapidly scale hash rate and they would do so even in short windows to control blocks and insure that their preferred transactions could be confirmed in reasonable time windows.

@boomer_btc @patchw1se @NEEDcreations @BTC_JEDI21 @grok Why would there be catastrophic exponential increase/decrease in hash power within difficulty adjustment period in such a civilization? You’re smuggling in some assumptions about how quickly economically deployable hash power can change and how centralized it is.

@adam3us But at that point, why not just write the code and make it a single server? There's no point

@adam3us I hope people that push to build Defi on top of bitcoin realize it's not a good thing. I think the only real use case of defi is as purposefully centralize distribution platform for tradfi asset claims enforceable by law ( like no-kyc sovereign/corporate bonds )

told you so👎bitcoiners so tired of being right. re DeFi (aka dinoFi) high recursive leverage, contagion and EVM "rich stateful" nonsense/bridge unsecurability. x.com/adam3us/status…
Adam Back@adam3us

@xumhar1 @TKlaudie @GoingParabolic like i would hazard that there is some pretty extreme contagion and misunderstood leverage implicit in governance airdrop recursively staked DeFi. LTCM tried high leverage and failed spectacularly even due to liquidity wobble, though positions would've worked if they could hold.

I never liked databases as an idea. You literally send a string query over TCP to postgres and it returns you data over tcp as strings. There is so much potential to make this whole thing better …. but everyone seems to be just fine with it.

@levelsio We have been living in a era where our margins are through the roof, *that* might be changing. Is it worth spending 15% less by paying for tokens directly, instead of paying a local ai-specialist shop for your business domain, that does the job and is accountable to it?

@levelsio AI has no accountability to it's output though, as long as it's not too expensive most business owners would rather pay someone to solve a problem. Most people do not think like programmers, I really don't believe LLMs will change that dynamic but I could be wrong

Sure but realistically websites are probably a thing of the past in a few years Everyone will just use whatever interactive calculator their AI chat app spins up for them, or it will just answer whatever calculation question they have They won't need a website for it
Moiz@iammoizfarooq

@levelsio I sell interactive calculators for business websites. Zero chance any big tech cares enough to come for me lol

@VictorTaelin Suppose we have agi next Tuesday. When does software dev die off? We have local businesses seemingly unable to build functional websites in 2026, a totally solved problem for decades

I think Flowers is right and I don't see any point in building anything at all if we're having AGI soon. I regret spending so much time working, when I could be just living. I'm glad Bend2 is nearing its conclusion but I definitely won't work 15 hours a day after launch anymore
Flowers ☾@flowersslop

"now is the perfect time to start a company" is pure cope. just enjoy life while the old world is still here. no one will need your software in an AGI world. dont waste your time. live. make memories. AGI will crush everything. live for yourself. nobody will care in 5 years

Thought experiment. If Strategy bought all of the bitcoin in existence, what would the total network value be? Zero. Networks are valued based on their *distribution*. Strategy accumulating bitcoin is neutral at best, but likely bearish. :)

1/ There's a narrative circulating that Citrea had nothing to do with the OP_RETURN uncap. That Citrea didn't need it. Didn't ask for it. Was just caught in some drama it didn't start. This thread explores what the people who pushed the change actually said. 🧵

Especially in an era of agentic coding.. it no longer makes any sense to me to continue using languages like PHP which offer zero novel value. I don't stand to gain anything from saying this, but now is the time to start with Elixir. Have faith and rip off that band-aid.
