The DOGE thing is horrible because you can't explain it to normal people not overly online and into stale 10 year old meme culture, so you look at it in silent horror, knowing what mush this person's brain is and the places online he frequents

Their rulings are now fundamentally corrupted due to basic conflicts-of-interest

Everyone's mocking Musk for being the co-chair of a committee that is intended to reduce US govt bureaucracy. Everyone's ignoring that he'll be overseeing those parts of the US government which regulate his companies & their competitors

Silver lining: Musk being given a made up job by Trump means less time spent managing/destroying Twitter. (This is probably a bit quaint now but shouldn’t he put his companies in a blind trust now he works for the US government?)

This is the rub. If the Trump admin shuns NATO, clashes with the EU over tariffs, climate, twitter/tech, the EU is not going to align with us on China. They will hedge. We will be the ones isolated.

A Trump administration that by a combination of mass sackings, mass resignations and widespread demoralisation destroys the US civil service will find itself pulling policy levers only for nothing coherent to happen on the ground. Not a fascist state but rather a shattered state

Still seeing "Harris couldn't turn out millions of Biden voters," and the count in swing states says that's not true. In Wisconsin, Harris got 37k more votes than Biden. The most votes of any Dem candidate since Obama in 2008. She lost bc Trump added 77k more votes since 2020.

Looks like Gen X delivered the White House to Trump.

Here’s the problem for the left: the message here is that Biden was wrong to do fiscal stimulus, and that instead what voters want is an economic policy that keeps service worker wages as low as possible, at all costs, because voters will not tolerate higher prices

Getting some very early numbers out of Indiana, where polls are now closed. About half of Fort Wayne in, the second largest city in the state: 52-47% Trump. It was 55-43% Trump in 2020.
