A huge health insurance SCAM more people need to be talking about - American with insurance was told her MRI total with insurance would be $5,100 - Without insurance the bill would be $700 After learning this she asked to not use her insurance, the hospital told her “Since you have insurance, we are not going to let you self-pay it. — How is that not a scam? Isn't it my choice if I want to self-pay something versus running it through my insurance” “Insurance is such a ripoff. — health insurance is a scam”

After we launched interactive Audio Overviews, which let you "call in" and ask the AI hosts a live question, we had to do some “friendliness tuning” because the hosts seemed annoyed at being interrupted. File this away in “things I never thought would be my job, but are.”

Most government projects should come with a clear expiry date. That’s why we set one for @DOGE: July 4, 2026.

The excess government spending is what causes inflation! ALL government spending is taxation. This is a very important concept to appreciate. It is either direct taxation, like income tax, or indirect via inflation due to increasing the money supply.

What does this accomplish other than deprive 640k Americans from Internet access? Does this make America better or worse? Starlink was given a contract by the FCC in 2020 to bring Internet access to 640,000 Americans in 35 states by 2025. But yesterday the FCC took this contract away and replaced it with...nothing. A lot of people, including an FCC Commissioner, finds the decision and rationale a head-scratcher. When you make decisions that negatively impact a lot of Americans for no clear reason, its important to clearly explain why. Otherwise, people will speculate. And in this case, they are speculating that this is directed political harassment of Elon.
Brendan Carr@BrendanCarrFCC

Last year, after Elon Musk acquired Twitter, President Biden gave federal agencies the green light to go after him. And they have. Today, the FCC adds itself to the growing list of federal agencies engaging in the regulatory harassment of Elon Musk. I dissent.

Heart Surgeon Dr. Philip Ovadia
@altcap Cardiac surgeon here. Congrats on being proactive about your heart health. More people should be. Has anyone discussed insulin resistance and tested you for it? Have you tested your cholesterol particle size/quality? Amount of cholesterol (LDL/ApoB) is the wrong focus. Statins increase calcified plaque and insulin resistance over time - exactly what you are trying to prevent by taking them. I see way too many people on my operating table that have been taking statins for many years.

We’ve decided to hire a CEO for All-In. Old media is broken. Talking heads, selling ads, inciting anger, with one-sided discourse has become tiresome and is deeply damaging the social fabric. We want to tackle this error and create a new kind of media and live events brand and business. We have an amazing start with passionate fans, tremendous reach, and credibility. Now, we want to build out the All-In community and deliver more content, amazing live in-person experiences and events, and tools to support our active community. We need a CEO to help us achieve our goals.  If you’d like to learn more and apply, you can do so here: allinpodcast.co/ceo-search

@iga_swiatek You need to fire your coaching staff. No drop shot, no volley, and Jolena’s squeaky shoes totally threw off your serve. Where was the prep for these on-court issues? You’ll need these components to stay #1. Make it happen!! 👍👍😎😎

JUST IN: Barack and Michelle Obama were spotted for the first time since the mysterious death of their personal chef Tafari Campbell, playing golf and tennis. They seem pretty distraught about his death. Questions surrounding Campbell's death continue to swirl including why the police call logs were left blank for Campbell's drowning and who the 2nd paddle boarder was that with him at the time of his drowning. ...an athletic man who has experience swimming drowns in a pond outside of Obama's $12M mansion and we have zero answers. Wild.

@wolfejosh @Jason @LAUNCH @ycombinator Agree JCal. We learned so much at Kona DataSearch. The good, the bad and the ugly. It’s also about personal risk tolerance. I talk with connections about angel investing. Some embrace it. Most want no part of it

Maybe. I personally advise the opposite. Experience is overrated. Young people whether naively ambitious--or justifiably qualified--should take risks because they can afford to. If they are competitively obsessed and can differentiate regardless of age or experience they can win. Maybe they won't impart wisdom of sage board members but they can win allocations in deals. When @peterjhebert and I started Lux (we had zero experience and maybe possibly knew what we didn't know but probably not) and I remember one specific older VC saying "aww you guys are so cute you should get experience at a startup or get an MBA" What would working at a top co then like Yahoo or Alta Vista or Cerent or Juniper have taught us viscerally that we didn't learn observing their successes and failures and good or bad luck? Sure the majority of young people trying to be investors will flounder and fail but some might be way smarter than any of us older people or have better insights on a new emerging trend or better access to fund the next gen of young founders.

Young people should NOT go into venture capital. The best path is be in the arena in the following 4 ways, in order: a) start your own company & join an accelerator like @launch or @ycombinator b) join a high-growth startup that's funded c) join a well run high-growth company (Tesla, SpaceX, Stripe, Reddit, etc) down the list are... d) run an average big co (to learn what not to do) e) join a venture fund, if you must

@love4u415 Which means nothing if your state is $40 billion in debt. Oklahoma could have the fourth smallest economy and earn a million dollars each year and it would be doing better than California.

California is a shit-hole state. It has the highest taxes, it is the most dangerous state, has the highest gas prices, ranks 44th in the nation in education, has the most homeless by far, and has the third highest cost of living overall, and it is only getting worse. And when the Democrats put up Gavin Newsom as a candidate, he will tell you what a great job he has done and all of you woke Democrat zombies will believe him.

Close, but you've fallen into one of the most insiduous traps of modern politics. I call if the Wedge fallacy. (phony "wedge issue" invented to divide the citizenry into 2 tribes) You don't really want, "Small govt." Size is not the unit of work you care about most. You want "Smart govt" of whatever size gets the job done.

- Small government - Fiscal responsibility - Social tolerance - Freedom of speech - Hi quality public schools - Pensions for the old - Healthcare for the sick - Secure border + legal immigration - No wars The first and last items are revolutionary. They would create a society that includes the money and will to ensure all the items between them.
