Dropping a video update from Rio Rancho, NM. Project Ranger is moving faster than most expected, and we want people to see it. We've been hard at work with our customers within @PAEAviation and @usarmypaefires to integrate Blackbeard, the United States most affordable hypersonic weapon, on F/A-18 and HIMARS. Last week, we signed our HOA with the Department of War for 500 Blackbeards per year, minimum, with a clear path to thousands more. The more than 200 @Castelion, @ARCOMurray, and contractor teams on site have been hard at work building the home of future Blackbeard production in @sandovalcounty. None of it happens without people in government willing to actually act on the threat in front of us. Grateful to @SecWar Hegseth, @DepSecWar Feinberg, @USWREMichael, and @USDASDuffey for setting real demand and giving companies like ours the signal to go build the Arsenal of Freedom. We’re growing fast, and we’re hiring in New Mexico. Come build something that matters. castelion.com/careers/

Unapologetic American strength built on @MonsterEnergy and @CelsiusOfficial. (Feel free to reach out about sponsorship opportunities.) Thanks for having me on @GeneralCatalyst. Building hypersonic missiles affordably is critical to strengthening U.S. national security.

"In what world is hurling half an F-35 at somebody an effective way to deter them?" For decades, a single hypersonic missile has cost as much as $50 million. @hargsb built SpaceX's Starshield business before founding @Castelion to make them affordable at scale, and keep America safe. Congratulations to the @cantos team!
Cantos@cantos

We have two exciting announcements today as Cantos turns 10… First, we closed our new fund earlier this year. Canto IV is a $70M fund purpose-built to lead pre-seed and seed rounds. We oversubscribed, wanting to keep it right-sized for being a founder's most aligned first partner. Second, we launched our new look with help from our friends at @asimov_co! Cantos is so-named as an ode to epic poems, where grand stories are written in "cantos" rather than chapters. We view founders as the protagonists of today's epics and seek to back those whose deeds become the stuff of legend. Our new website is a testament to the scale of their ambitions, with visions from a future they will have shaped. Resonat in Æternum 🖋️

I greatly appreciated the discussion last week with @SecWar about rapidly increasing munitions production. The progress in New Mexico on our 1,000-acre site dedicated to producing thousands of highly capable, yet affordable, hypersonic weapons each year is incredible. Construction is months ahead of schedule, and we intend to continue expansion of our manufacturing capabilities. Castelion is moving at maximum speed to deliver hypersonic weapons at scale and at a price the nation can afford. We are honored to have outstanding partners at the state and local levels, as well as contractors who are building this site from the ground up. Congratulations to New Mexico for being featured on @CNBC today as one of the top states for business; well deserved. Pax per virtutem.

@NatSecLedger @Castelion You failed to explain your logical solution or give a proper answer to the issues I am clearly stating, and your go-to, as a typical person like that would do, is " I know better"; my guy I have studied military systems longer than your account existed but sure, delude yourself.

This will cost <$10m per unit, with only dozens to hundreds produced by 2030. In a peer war, you'd need 50–100+ daily without going bankrupt spending 500m-1b$ per day. @Castelion is the only one doing hypersonics logically, aiming for thousands before 2030 at sub-$500k price.

Sorry to have missed this event; I was in DC bragging about our customers, @NBVCCalifornia and ATEC, and how well we are working together to deliver the first affordable, yet highly capable, hypersonic munition for our military. The theme today was clear: deliver on production promises, and there is a generational opportunity that this administration and the leadership of @DeptofWar have created for new entrants to become a major prime. Demonstrate the capabilities promised, the costs saved, and the department will buy. We intend to do exactly that. Others intend to do exactly that. For our friends on the Hill, @HouseGOP, @HouseDemocrats, @SenateDems, and @SenateGOP: despite what is likely to be a contentious year, please keep in mind that many of the new entrants have bet their company to deliver for the country. The US capital markets have backed bets in defense markets normally unbackable. If the US is going to demand better outcomes for less money while asking private markets to fund the tech, it is critical that funding make it to new entrants as a class. This is a unique moment in time to reverse defense consolidation, demand more, pay less, and let capitalism return real competition to defense. As a group, we are excited to get building; it’s what makes America great.
Castelion@Castelion

It was an honor to host @SecArmy at our headquarters. As threats evolve, producing hypersonic missiles rapidly at scale is required to build the American arsenal. We are grateful for the Army’s trust as we deliver the best munitions to protect our warfighters.

@ashleevance Does’t seem close to enough since 1 reactor at Vogtle cost nearly that much. Sure there were other issues, but unclear if remainder can be financed? Are datacenters going to prebuy years of supply?

The Navy's order is validation that Blackbeard is the ideal balance of capability, cost, and manufacturing scale. Proud of the hard work the team has put in to get to this point and recognize the hard work and improvements still to come. Thank you @USNavy for the trust you are placing in us; we don’t take it lightly.
Castelion@Castelion

We're proud to share the @USNavy has awarded Castelion a $23.4M fixed-price order for 50 Blackbeard Hypersonic weapons, our first delivery order for the program. The award marks an important step in Blackbeard's transition from development and flight testing toward operationally relevant production. "Blackbeard was designed from the beginning to support our nation's conventional deterrence," said @hargsb, our Co-Founder & CEO. Read more: castelion.com/news/u-s-navy-…

Congrats to everyone at @K2SpaceCo, great choice by @USSpaceForce.
K2 Space Corporation@K2SpaceCo

K2 Space has been confirmed as a satellite bus provider for the @USSpaceForce Protected Tactical SATCOM-Global (PTS-G) initiative, which will launch to GEO in 2028. This announcement is a milestone for K2 as our first participation in a Pentagon program of record. Under the award announced by @USSF_SSC earlier this week, K2 will supply a satellite to our partners at @SESSpaceDefense, one of two primes on the contract. K2’s large, resilient satellites are built with the power and mass to deploy the anti-jam capabilities and consistent communications that the PTS-G constellation requires. The ability to project force, at scale, across a number of domains is the bedrock of American security. Today, I’m excited to publicly announce our partnership with @Saronic to enable an affordable approach to do exactly that at sea. Demonstration coming in 2027.
Castelion@Castelion

We're partnering with @Saronic to launch Blackbeard from their Marauder (MUSV), a first-of-its-kind capability. "Blackbeard and Marauder will give our warfighters more shots, from more places, with fewer constraints," said our co-founder and CEO @hargsb. At-sea demonstration targeted for 2027. Three years ago, we started working a clean sheet design for an affordabe hypersonic weapon. Now we're partnering with @Saronic to launch Blackbeard from an unmanned surface vessel, the first of many such partnerships. Excited to go offshore in 2027.
Saronic@Saronic

We're excited to join forces with @Castelion to integrate the Blackbeard hypersonic missile with our Marauder MUSV, demonstrating a first-of-its-kind maritime hypersonic launch capability. By pairing autonomous maritime platforms with hypersonics, we are advancing a more distributed and survivable approach to deterrence. Together, we're working to increase capability and capacity by combining autonomous maritime and hypersonic strike capabilities that are more affordable, scalable, and faster to field. With a demonstration targeted for 2027, both companies are investing in the production infrastructure needed to deliver these systems to the warfighter at greater scale and speed. America has the best military in the world. But we can't build weapons fast enough or cheap enough to deter the threats we're facing. That gap is dangerous. Grateful to @mariogabriele and @thegeneralistco for this chat on what @Castelion is doing to solve this.
Mario Gabriele@mariogabriele

"I want to leave a safe world for my kids. This is what I got." Bryon Hargis (@hargsb) is the founder and CEO of @Castelion, a defense startup building hypersonic missiles the way SpaceX builds rockets: fast, iteratively, and cheap enough to produce in quantity.  His conviction is that America does not have a weapons problem. It has a manufacturing and learning rate problem. And that gap is more dangerous than any single technology demonstration. Supersonic. Mach 1.21. Quarterhorse Mk 2.1 is now the world’s first privately developed, unmanned supersonic jet and the fastest unmanned aircraft flying today. This flight makes Hermeus the fastest company in aviation history to go from founding to supersonic flight - exactly 364 days after the maiden flight of our first aircraft. Now, we fly faster. A special thanks to @DIU_x, Director @OwenWest91, Maj. Gen. Joe "Solo" Kunkel, and Deputy Director Kyle Norman.
