I'm grateful to the @DeptofWar, @DoWCTO, and @USDASDuffey for the trust they have placed in @Castelion. We are working with maximum urgency to deliver capability our Armed Forces can leverage to keep America safe.
Department of War CTO@DoWCTO

The @DeptofWar has reached new framework agreements with a slate of disruptive new entrants to aggressively expand the United States military’s lethal cruise missile and hypersonic missile strike capabilities.   Low-Cost Containerized Missiles (LCCM) Program: • Anduril • CoAspire • Leidos • Zone 5 Low-Cost Hypersonic Missiles: • Castelion This effort positions the Department to procure 10,000+ LCCMs over three years, starting in 2027. Once Castelion achieves testing and validation, the Department will award a multi-year contract for a minimum of 500 Blackbeard missiles annually, while seeking the necessary authorizations and appropriations for over 12,000 total missiles over five years. These agreements will rapidly field effective and affordable kinetic mass for the Joint Force at scale, acting directly on the mandate from President Trump and Secretary Hegseth to strengthen America’s Arsenal of Freedom.

Please do not be fooled by foreign intel agents who are "recruiting" on behalf of Castelion from non-Castelion email addresses. We've had several reports of someone going after senior military and industry officials. While the email domain name matching ours is a start, even that isn't foolproof. If the email appears to come from us you can always view the original message header and look for something similar to "dkim=pass," depending on your mail provider. Our domain signs outgoing mail and I wish email providers made this more apparent similar to the lock icon on a https website. @Castelion

We are honored to deliver this capability for the Navy and the trust you have placed in us. Our success has only been made possible by the incredible partnership with the Warfare Centers, NAVAIR, OPNAV N98 and others, within and outside of the Navy. We wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you!
Castelion@Castelion

The @USNavy has awarded @Castelion a $105M contract to integrate Blackbeard, the Navy's first air-launched hypersonic strike weapon, onto the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. We're grateful for the trust the @DeptofWar has placed in our team and are committed to delivering Blackbeard to the Warfighter on the timeline American deterrence demands. ULA effectively died when they failed to find a buyer willing to invest another $5–10B to keep them competitive. Vulcan is not going to be competitive over the next decade. Tory led them to their demise but didn’t stay to preside over the corpse. ULA was pricing itself as a premium offering even though I believe they have a negative NPV. Aggressive changes in management might be able to turn that around, but if Blue can reliably and repeatedly reach orbit anytime this decade, that will be the end of the road for ULA.

@unusual_whales Before the pitchforks come out, the timeline for selling private shares isn't comparable to a public company. He would have agreed to the sale and the price long before the close date and the timeline for close was likely dictated by xAI, not him.

BREAKING: Emil Michael, who is the Pentagon’s under secretary for research and engineering under the Trump administration, ,made a profit of up to $24 million selling a private investment he held in Elon Musk’s AI company earlier this year. He oversees negotiations with AI companies and has been pushing the defense department to rapidly increase the widespread use of AI. During the period that Michael owned the xAI stock the Pentagon announced two separate agreements with the firm. On 22 December, the defense department, which now refers to itself as the Department of War, announced a new agreement with xAI. Michael did not ultimately sell his position in xAI until 9 January,

I'm excited to announce we have achieved our Tier 1 mission success criteria and have begun gathering a tremendous amount of data on how this brand new spacecraft performs. On March 30th, 13:17:08Z, the Gravitas spacecraft separated from the SpaceX Transporter-16 stack to begin its mission as one of the highest power free-flying satellites ever launched. Immediately after separation, the spacecraft autonomously: - Executed detumbling maneuvers - Established two-way communications with the ground (on our very first ground station pass) - Deployed its 20kW solar arrays - Slewed to a safe and stable attitude to await further ground commands These actions alone are a testament to the incredible work of our in-house engineering, software, and GNC teams to build a robust spacecraft. Since then, our operations team completed all initial system activations and checkouts, confirming the vehicle is in a power positive and thermally stable state with no major anomalies observed at this time. We completed this phase of the mission ahead of schedule. Next up we will be powering up and downlinking data for all payloads aboard the Gravitas spacecraft in support of our customers and partners while continuing to put the spacecraft through its paces. As we noted ahead of launch: The goal of this mission is to experiment and push our systems to the limit to inform future missions. I look forward to sharing more on our successes and challenges as the mission proceeds. Video of our satellite below; link to full T-16 webcast: x.com/SpaceX/status/…

Today we’re sharing some big news. @Saronic closed a $1.75B Series D fundraise at a $9.25B valuation, led by @kleinerperkins. Honestly, it’s a bit surreal to look back at how much has happened in such a short time. We started with a simple belief: the maritime world was being overlooked, and autonomy could change that in a big way. Since then, it’s been a lot of time on the water, building, testing, breaking things, fixing them, and doing it all over again — just trying to move fast and get better every step of the way. What makes me most proud though isn’t the milestone, it’s the team behind it. Saronic is what it is because of people who genuinely care about what we’re building and who push hard every day to do it right. That’s the part that really matters. This next chapter is about scaling up — faster builds, bigger footprints, and continuing to invest in American shipbuilding in a real way. We’ve got a lot of work ahead, and that’s the exciting part. Grateful to everyone who’s been part of this, from our team, to our investors and partners, and to our customers. Let's go!

I’m excited to share that @K2SpaceCo is on contract to deliver 28 satellites to @SES_Satellites for meoSphere, SES’s next-generation MEO network. This program reflects a shift we’ve believed in from the beginning: that satellite networks of the future will require significantly more power, flexibility, and scalability than legacy architectures were designed to support. The initial batch of 28 K2 high-power satellites will effectively double SES’s networks capacity. Over time, we will continue to build on this foundation together, to deliver new levels of performance to MEO and support the growing demands for sovereign, secure, and high-throughput connectivity. We’re proud to support SES as they push forward a truly multi-orbit, multi-mission network. Thanks to @adel_al_saleh for helping to share the news!

Proud to have supported @castelion during their most important test flight of 2025. Together, we demonstrated how our Autonomous Surface Vessels can play a critical role in accelerating and enabling operations in complex, multi-domain environments.
Castelion@Castelion

Looking back at Castelion's most important 2025 test flight on our path to deliver credible deterrence. Thanks to @Saronic for providing autonomous shipborne telemetry support that enabled critical data capture. We're gearing up for an even more demanding flight-test schedule in 2026.

@jimbelosic We paid the fee to reserve a spot and speak with Tesla about doing exact same thing and they told us this wasn't supported despite the public datasheet making it seem like it should be obviously supported. Waste of 1 or 2k, call anyone else in my opinion.

Today Northwood has raised $100M in Series B funding led by @WashingHarbour and co-led by @a16z to support a simple objective – take space missions further faster. This financing follows millions in signed contracts including a $49.8 million contract with the Space Force to support the Satellite Control Network – critical infrastructure used for launches and early satellite operations, to track and control satellites, and to provide emergency support to tumbling and lost satellites.
