आधी आबादी को पूरी ताकत देने वाले संविधान संशोधन बिल को विपक्ष का साथ नहीं मिला
विपक्ष ने बिल गिरने पर मेज थपथपा कर स्वागत किया।
बिल को पास करने के लिए दो तिहाई सांसदों का समर्थन जरूरी था।
कुल 528 वोट पड़े
उस लिहाज़ से दो तिहाई मतलब 352 वोट चाहिए थे।

विपक्ष द्वारा 'नारी शक्ति वंदन अधिनियम' के लिए जरूरी संविधान संशोधन बिल को पारित न होने देना 'भारत माता' के सम्मान पर आघात है। देश की समूची मातृशक्ति के साथ धोखा है। उनके लोकतांत्रिक अधिकार का हरण है।
कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाले इंडी गठबंधन ने अपनी नारी विरोधी मानसिकता को दर्शाया है।
देश की नारी शक्ति सब देख और समझ रही है। वह इस छल एवं अन्याय को याद रखेगी तथा समय आने पर इसका उत्तर भी देगी।
आदरणीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री @narendramodi जी के नेतृत्व में मातृशक्ति के सम्मान, गरिमा और अधिकारों की रक्षा तथा उनके सशक्तीकरण के लिए NDA गठबंधन के प्रयास निरंतर जारी रहेंगे।

I can and I am not in favour of it. I think increasing the size of the parliament is a bad idea because I don't see a scenario in which an increase in the numbers of MPs would lead to more efficient debates. I also agree with the southern states' concerns.
But my frustration is with the scuttling of the women reservation bill every time. It feels like that the politicians are in cahoots and they just don't want to pass the bill at all.

आज लोकसभा में बहुत अजीब दृश्य दिखा। नारी शक्ति वंदन अधिनियम के लिए जरूरी संविधान संशोधन बिल को कांग्रेस, TMC, DMK और समाजवादी पार्टी ने पारित नहीं होने दिया। महिलाओं को 33% आरक्षण देने के बिल को गिरा देना, उसका उत्साह मनाना और जयनाद करना सचमुच निंदनीय और कल्पना से परे है। अब देश की महिलाओं को लोकसभा और विधानसभा में 33% आरक्षण, जो उनका अधिकार था, वह नहीं मिल पाएगा। कांग्रेस और उसके सहयोगियों ने यह पहली बार नहीं किया, बल्कि बार-बार किया है। उनकी यह सोच न महिलाओं के हित में है और न देश के। मैं उन्हें बताना चाहता हूँ कि नारी शक्ति के अपमान की यह बात यहाँ नहीं रुकेगी, दूर तक जाएगी। विपक्ष को ‘महिलाओं का आक्रोश’ न सिर्फ 2029 लोकसभा चुनाव में, बल्कि हर स्तर, हर चुनाव और हर स्थान पर झेलना पड़ेगा।

Once again, Congress has betrayed the women of this country, like in the past, by their opposition to the Women’s Reservation Bill.

विपक्ष का यह जश्न हर उस महिला का अपमान है, जो दशकों से अपने अधिकार का इंतजार कर रही है। कांग्रेस और उसके सहयोगी कितनी बार महिलाओं के साथ विश्वासघात करेंगे?

Today, we all saw the true face of Congress, TMC, DMK and Samajwadi Party. By blocking the Constitutional Amendment that would reserve one-third of seats in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, they have denied women their legitimate rights.
The nation is watching, and so are its women. The insult meted out today to Nari Shakti will never be forgiven.

The women’s reservation bill has fallen in Parliament. I don’t think the govt will mind this outcome too much.
Since the primary goal was optics, the bill failing is actually even better optics. From now on, in every rally and bhashan, the PM will say that the opposition is anti-women, they didn’t let the bill pass.

India’s inequality is a Time bomb. Any bad faith actor can easily instigate the masses. Low income countries are very susceptible, you can easily convince a low earner that for all their misery the govt/rich are responsible.
The solution is to revolt, burn stuff, vandalise and get your ways. The more the govt bends and gives knee jerk incentives, faster the next revolution would be. Every country around us seen this happen. It’s in the subcontinental DNA. India has to work on parallel tracks, root out bad faith actors, and keep a check on exploitation by work force contractors.
