@GREIGEYESBIKER1 @VonnSand @ScottishLabour That's an interesting idea on democracy - why not let people vote for whoever they want; if scots believe british/'westminster' party-backed candidates shouldn't be there, they can vote for a candidate with a different affiliation. Most voters have other priorities to vote on.

@iksab20 @PopBase Yes, the baby will be called Taylor, but the child will be given the surname Lautner-Lautner to reflect both parents' involvement.

@PopBase What’s better than two Taylor Lautners? Three, for sure! 😂 This family is literally taking 'copy-paste' to a whole new level. Huge congrats to Taylor and Taylor! Now the real question is: will they go all in and name the baby Taylor too? That would be the ultimate plot twist

@bigdgramps46079 @Albravey @HansMahncke Great test for the so-called allies - tell them all they never did anything worthwhile and the USA doesn't need them, then see if they turn up when the US makes a problem. Shame on europe for quoting Trump's words of weeks prior back at him and telling him to clean his own mess.

@Albravey @HansMahncke You assume that he did not see it. False assumption. What you do not realize is that it is sacrificial as far the US is concerned. We don't need their oil. It is not the 1970's anymore.

@LucyTrims The good news is he's renting, so the landlord will be the one solving the bigger problem. All of that corrosion on the left side and on top looks bad.

Why does stuff always go wrong at night?! Son2 just called to say he’s traced a burning plastic smell to some melted wires in his water heater and the fuse is tripped. It’s a rented flat and he can’t get hold of the landlord but it seems like he needs some advice on safety before assuming it can wait for the landlord to get back in touch so he’s going to have to call an engineer without the landlord’s say-so. But the company he called said as he’s a tenant they can’t help! He’s isolated the power but it’s a wire from a wall-mounted switch that goes into a box hanging off the wall into another box that leads into this electric water heater… he used a wooden board to switch it off in case of an electric shock! So we think it’s all good until tomorrow when he can call the landlord again… Any contrary views welcome!

@Kenguin34 @EE The number a message seems to be sent from can not be relied on - your phone will even put messages from 2 different sources (but giving the same source number or name) into one conversation thread, so you can't even rely on that.

Morning all. You’ll be proud of me. I recently bought a new iPhone. I’ve just successfully transferred the data from my old phone to my new one. And, it works. And, I didn’t have to ask a young person for help. @SamRaincock watch out girlfriend, I’m coming for your job.

@kWhDealer_ @bmay While this makes for a machine that's heavy and requires refilling, the physics of dragging a long, heavy hose and managing that dynamic load the hose creates sounds rather more problematic.

Homeowner waits until construction job is nearly done—then calls ICE on 6 of her own workers. Woman even provides the ladder used by agent to detain men—who she owes $10,000 for 3 day job. "She called the damn law on us and now we're totally screwed!" men yell in Spanish. "They surrounded us!—They surrounded us!" Agents even left behind the workers' van with doors wide open—filled with thousands of dollars worth of tools. The arrest was broadcast live for about 30 minutes by a co-worker—identified as Bryan Polanco. "Seeing it is not the same as experiencing it," he explains. "I’ve seen many videos, and sadly today I had to experience it." At the end of the video he gets the woman who called ICE on camera: "It is the same woman. Tidying up the house, and still with hatred in her heart." The incident occurred in Cambridge, Maryland.

@CaryKelly11 All commercial potatoes are grown with chemicals. Some are allowed when using the 'organic' label, more are allowed normally, but only ones that have been tested and deemed safe - just like the ones organic foods are permitted to use.

She's not wrong. A potato grown with chemicals is called a potato but a potato grown without chemicals is called an organic potato. Why is the burden of proof on the one not using poison? Instead of an organic label, we need a chemical label. source: slottetmicrofarm

@usefulidiott @Unlucky0bserver @TracketPacer No, got to normalise being responsible for your own safety. If it's a concern, bring your own, not like they're bulky or expensive. Not taking a precaution until a stranger hands you something is the opposite of addressing the threat.

@WillKnocker @SamaHoole @LateAgitations It means we produce the same amount that we consume (100%) and then we produce 1/10th more than that. So at least that 1/10th (and actually more as we still import some lamb) is exported.

Britain is 110% self-sufficient in lamb. Let that sink in for a moment. Not "pretty good." Not "mostly fine." One hundred and ten percent. We grow more than we eat and export the rest. We have done this on permanent upland pasture that cannot be used for anything else, managed by farmers whose families have worked the same ground for generations, using animals that have been optimised for these conditions over centuries. 85% self-sufficient in beef. 100% in milk. 90% in eggs. The animal products on your plate, if you're eating in Britain, are almost certainly British. The supply chain is: farm, abattoir, butcher or supermarket. Measured in miles. Sometimes in tens of miles. Now. Your January strawberries are from Egypt. Your year-round peppers are from Spain or Morocco. Your salad leaves are from Israel in winter. Your green beans come from Kenya. Your blueberries are from Peru or Chile. They travel by refrigerated air freight, which is roughly fifty times more carbon-intensive per kilogram than road transport, to sit in a plastic clam shell next to a small flag and the word "fresh." The environmental argument against British animal products is not an environmental argument. It is a geography argument made by people who have not checked where their food comes from. Check where your food comes from.

@CELICA613 @NianticHelp A lesson for the future - make sure you have more than one authentication method attached to your niantic/pokemon account. A dummy account on facebook, ptc or apple will do to give you a second method to access your account if anything happens to your main method.

@whilst_tweet @SwiftOnSecurity There you go then, that's just about an A4/US-letter sized scan bed, with "1200x1200" DPI resolution (those numbers are generally highly dubious). So at least 50% too small for a magazine spread, and inferior optics to a modern DSLR.

@Celan_G @DavidHuntGirt @ELNVdc @RasmusJarlov Yes, that's what you want - a modern, well-equipped military. And create skilled jobs for americans. That's what governments do, part of their role is to spend taxes to stimulate activity that leads to more tax receipts, and generally drive money into the economy.
