🚨 Do you understand what this man just pulled off.. > a guy from North Carolina used AI to generate hundreds of thousands of songs.. uploaded them to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon.. then botted billions of streams on his own tracks and walked away with $8 million > 660,000 fake streams per day.. spread across thousands of AI songs so nobody noticed.. $1.2 million a year.. for music no human ever actually listened to real artists are out here grinding for 0.003 cents per stream.. promoting on TikTok.. begging for playlist placements.. and this guy just had AI make the music AND the audience first-ever criminal streaming fraud case.. he's paying back $8 million.. but the playbook is out there now.. and AI just got better since he started the music industry spent 10 years fighting piracy.. now they have to fight songs that don't exist being listened to by people who don't exist.

@ashnichrist @descript MacWhisper uses OpenAI’s transcription model. I believe it’s open source but with transcription being relatively light on your hardware I’d like to keep things local wheee possible

The transcription is so OP! Being able to remove part of a vid based on transcript is exactly what I've been looking for. Then when I get lazy about broll, Underlord just does the work for me lol I think we are starting to sound like an ad? But the tool is genuinely that good! Haven't heard of MacWhisper, Riverside also good!

How do you feel about AI? Scared it will make us dumber? Or optimistic about how it can help you? Curious how y’all are feeling.

@ashnichrist @descript Oh nice I’ve been a descript user for ages but I’ve mainly used their transcription features. Cancelled it because I bought MacWhisper that does the same thing but on my device. Riverside is my main editor (don’t like it much but they process 4K video that will kill my laptop)

@hellofrommarv That’s awesome. I’m trying to figure out how to automate some aspect of content creation. Started using @descript recently for editing. Only took 2h to edit a 20 min vid. So good

@ashnichrist I’d like to redo my website and make something that’s easier to update. Claude will help me with the html ✌️

@hellofrommarv Yessss omg that part annoys me as well. I have to constantly correct it, takes a lot of time vs saving it. Love that we both have access to making products now tho.

The challenge that so many get wrong in the product-market fit debate is it's always about *if* you can build it, not *for whom* you are building. Know the pain point you're fixing and the audience for whom this applies ON DAY ONE. Builder wisdom ft. @emilymanzerrr
