Watched the Dinosaurs documentary on Netflix this weekend. Highly recommend, especially with kids. Dinosaurs ruled this planet for 165 million years. Then an asteroid they never saw coming ended it all in a geological blink. Put that in perspective. Humans with abstract thinking, art, and complex language, what we'd call truly modern humans, have existed for maybe 50,000 to 100,000 years. Civilisation as we know it? Writing, cities, organised society? Maybe 5,000 years. The version with industrial-scale technology, global trade, and the ability to reshape the planet? Barely 200 years. And the version with nuclear weapons, AI, and the ability to end all of it? Less than 100 years. We solved the asteroid problem, by the way. NASA can now track and deflect them. The thing that wiped out 165 million years of dinosaurs, we've figured that one out. And yet billions are being spent daily on war and destruction, making an already bad climate situation even worse. The threats coming from the universe are becoming manageable. The ones we're creating ourselves, not so much. The dinosaurs had no choice. The asteroid just came. We do. That's what makes what's happening right now so much harder to watch.

Indian model Sarvam-105b is really really good Sarvam AI has open-sourced two India-built reasoning models, Sarvam 30B and 105B, positioning them as globally competitive open models. The big unlock is not just benchmark scores like 98.6 on Math500 for 105B or strong local deployment efficiency for 30B, but the full-stack story: in-house data, training, RL, tokenizer design, and inference optimization built for both frontier GPUs and consumer devices.

@cskvarma If the cost of software goes down, doesn't all enterprises want more software for making them efficient?? The same software engineer builds more and gets the same pay or better pay for his/her work

Margins in pure software businesses will eventually be same as FMCG or commodity products, due to margin squeezing by smaller and more efficient teams using AI.

@cskvarma @GeminiApp Are you working on designing those electro-mech systems or writing code for them?? For coding in the electronics part, I heard claude or gtp models better??

When I build any electronics circuitry, firmware or electro-mechanical systems, I often find @GeminiApp 3.1 Pro out performing Opus 4.6 and GPT 5.2. It could just be due to Google's massive index of every datasheet (or) it could be due to their work on Google DeepThink/Aletheia

@cskvarma Your thoughts are highly valuable, maybe that's the reason you feel like AI-written In this age of slop, human written unclear thoughts will gain traction!

So many tweets and replies feel "AI-written" now. This dilutes the human voice and the reader takes you less seriously. Earlier, I wrote a couple of tweets using AI (with clear labelling), I avoid it altogether now. I want to write like myself, however bad it may be....

A 1 MW data center needs 68,500 liters of water a day as per Deloitte Take any New Age Industry, water is a key part of the process AI, Data Centre, Manufacturing, Solar Recycling is going to be key as water stress is accelerating Have seen many World class water recycling and treatment plants , we need more of them across the World!

@cskvarma This perspective needs to be wide spread in circles of investors, which will push companies to innovate more and collective progressiveness of humanity.

Using AI, if every member of my team can be 10X more effective and I fire x% of my employees, that shows lack of imagination at my end. Given that my team knows my vertical better than most, I would do launch 10X more products/services and innovate, given profits to fuel it (1/2)

I wont be surprised if Chinese companies will do to AI what they did to EVs through sheer scale. They have the best open-weight models, Huawei chips (not the best, but high volumes) and cheaper electricity via solar. Their state and domestic market will bootstrap the growth.

@caleb_friesen I know India needs to improve a lot in large event management. Please understand 1/4 or 1/5 of san francisco population moving out of one place can overwhelm any online or offline cab service. I want to see the positive angle, near 20L+ people oneway other related to AI in india

@caleb_friesen Everyone needs to understand that the number of people turned out at the AI Impact summit, they are 200k/20L registered, if 1/3 or 1/4 of that will be possible attendence daily, which means nearly half or full population of san francisco (82K/8.2L) and many country presidents...

Had such a great day at the India AI Impact Summit. But the way it ended (7:40PM) was a huge let-down. No cabs, no pre-arranged shuttle. "Road is closed, go for a walk." Imagine how international visitors from must have felt. Not to mention differently-abled folks.
