@chrishorvat_ Dahlin is a stud offensively, up there with the best of the best. D side of the puck is a bit overrated, he’s active and aggressive but loses coverage and makes quite a few errors.

This isn’t a shot at Hughes, Bouchard, Hesikanen or Hutson either. Dahlin is just so complete and well rounded. Makar is the only guy I’d have ahead of him.

Unpopular opinion, but: Rasmus Dahlin is the second best defenceman in the NHL.

Guys like Hutson, Benson, Q. Hughes and others are proving yet again that size doesn’t matter as much as it used to come playoff time. Will GM’s learn from that or will they repeat the same mistake with some of the top undersized players in this years draft?

Some seem to think it's Cup or I'm done for McDavid in Edmonton. I've never believed that to be the sole reason 97 re-signs or leaves. Connor made it clear, it's about winning long term. If you watch the Oilers front office function, could one honestly believe that will happen.

Not sure the NHL salary cap is actually producing the parity it was designed for. Tampa made three straight Cup Finals and won twice, Florida has done the same, and Colorado has built a stacked roster with depth that feels a tier above most of the league.

The activity/entertainment of this offseason will come to whether WPG, NSH and/or SEA can have a honest conversation about how far away they truly are. If they’re smart, they’ll get great returns for older/expiring guys from desperate teams with cap space.

Earlier this week Matthew Schaefer shopped at John Varvatos at Belmont Park Village to get fitted for what he thought was just a Good Morning America appearance. Instead, Schaefer got fitted to win the Calder Memorial Trophy for Rookie of the Year.
