Had my mother been alive today- she would have loved to have seen this. As a sikh immigrant to this country- she was acutely aware of showing utmost respect. She loved the story of Jesus and would always watch Jesus movies at Easter and weep at how much he suffered on the cross.

@honess OK, but why shouldn't it be? If we are advocating equality here (i.e. he did one for Ramadan so he should do one for Easter), then we surely want him to give Ramadan equal footing with Christmas? Or is this NOT about equality after all?

@Capt_Fishpaste I’m not necessarily against it, and it provides an opportunity in my view to re enter on beneficial terms. I can’t imagine this gov and this prime minister being responsible for that. I think they would welcome us back and we should leverage that. This gov is not the 1 to do so

@honess I just think there has to be a VERY good reason to essentially exclude ourselves from the biggest trading block on our doorstep, especially now we can't rely on a relationship with the US. I don't think 10 years of Brexit has provided one?

So let's have another referendum then? Ten years on and people have practical experience of what being outside the EU actually means now. If the 'will of the people' is still to remain outside the EU, no big deal, fair enough. If it's no longer the case, do something about it?

Watching the World Cup as a kid and thinking there wouldn't be an Italy for 3 editions would have been as absurd as suggesting Brazil would miss 3 editions. Unthinkable. Not sure how deep the rot goes ( coaching, academies, pathways etc) but imagine being a young Italian player or aspiring coach with virtually zero reference points to look at on the international stage.

England are not in the class of France, Argentina or Spain. But they do have some exceptional talent. Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane are world class. So is John Stones - at his best. Trent Alexander-Arnold is world class - in possession. Declan Rice is having the season of his life. There are more reasons to be positive going into this tournament than negative. But England have to be bold and play to their strengths.  Imagine if England were bold and, if all fit, went into the World Cup… Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Guehi, O’Reilly; Anderson, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane.  Stones would have some covering to do of Alexander-Arnold when he raced upfield. Bellingham gets heavily scrutinised but he’s a big-game player, a winner and used to pressure at Real Madrid. He has to start. England also have an exceptional head coach in Thomas Tuchel who can make the right changes at the right time. England have a chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the World Cup and then anything’s possible. But only if they are bold. Not gung-ho. But bold. Risk/reward. #ENG
